Mags,
Sad that your parents couldn't see the poo that was spewing from GeeJay's mouth. But good on you for keeping it classy. At their ages, to come to that realization would have shattered their world, and that's really all they have.
i have seen some ask on this site how the active jw's are handling what is happening in australia.
here is my little experience from last night........ my parents were baptized in the late 30's as children and have never faltered in their determination to survive the great tribulation and live forever in paradise (even though they actively associate with all their df'ed kids).
my father is still actively serving as an elder and my mother has always been by his side.

q: is there anyone that has the permanent role of coordinator or chairman?.
geejay: no, we rotate yearly...... (translaton) we are all sparticus.. geejay: we are a faith driven org, we are not a group of lawyers, being overly concerned with legal matters..... fave quotes .
on establishing headship principle 1cor 14: 33-35, 1 cor 11:3. geejay:...... that's talking about women not excitedly jumping up arguing with others..... geejay: ......our literature has said it, and we agree!.
Dumplin:
WOMEN JUMP UP EXCITEDLY AND START ARGUMENTS
So, in the first century, the men never disagreed, argued or came to blows?? Paul and Barnabas, anyone??
okay, i don't even know where to start.
i'm 16, i live in a strict jw household and i know if i am pregnant (which is a big possibility) ..i know i'm doomed to a life of misery.
not because of my baby but because of my family and the isolation and judgement from the congregation.
Please go to a free sexual health clinic and do a pregnancy test. If you are pregnant, they will be able to direct you to support services, medical professionals and other places where you can get established.
In my work as a nurse, I've had occasion to work with single moms, and even young women who were DFd from the JWs, who had no close family members for support. It meant a lot to them that I disclosed my JW background, and understood their situation.
Let us know how you're doing.
well its been a while since i've posted on here but i guess i just need someone to talk to.
i've recently turned 16 and i guess life is just starting to hit me like a ton of bricks.
i'm still not sure what i want to do with my life.
You can speak in confidence to your doctor about your eating disorder and the symptoms you're experiencing.
While it's normal to go through anxiety at this stage of your life, if it is worsening your eating disorder, then it needs to be addressed medically. Ask your doctor if there are any counsellors that work with youth, or eating disorder groups that don't charge you to attend.
Being home schooled is tough - but perhaps you can go to a local school, tell them your story and ask them if you can enroll, or take some tests to see what level you achieve so they can place you appropriately.
See if you can get a job after school. Places like Wal-Mart offer scholarships to deserving staff members.
School and work offer you opportunities to get acquainted with new people. Trust your Spidey-sense - if someone gives you a bad vibe, don't get too close, too quickly. Friendships - real ones as opposed to Kingdom Hall™ ones - take time to develop, so be patient with yourself and the new people you meet.
School and work also give you a chance to be away from your parents' domineering influence. I honestly think you need space and time away from that environment. You can love your parents without realizing that they are excessively controlling.
If you aren't yet Baptized™, DON'T do it. There's no rush. Armageddon™ isn't coming. You can get on with your education, go to college, learn whatever skills you like, and begin a career, although you may need to maintain a back up job while you get established as an artist.
Check in here whenever you like. You're welcome here. You're safe here.
straight after the commission ended today within minutes, the phone rang.
it was one of the people who are working on it.
firstly she established if i was alright and did i want to talk.. i said i was too tired and unhappy that geoffrey jackson managed to do some preaching....she said they were aware of that.
Make no mistake, no lawyer of this calibre asks questions that they don't already know the answers to, and know them thoroughly.
Everyone on this Royal Commission is about as well informed as anyone could possibly be regarding the WTS, the GB, the policies and procedures, etc. The questions the RC are asking and the answers from Geoff et al are simply allowing the WTS/GB to paint themselves into a corner from which they cannot extricate themselves. They demonstrate the complete lack of empathy for victims of child sexual abuse (including family members who have also been 'groomed' by the perpetrators into being included in their circle of friends); a complete disregard for the likelihood of further psychological harm coming to the victim when they have to testify against the person who violated them, with said person present, and with not a single support person sitting on behalf of the victim.
go therefore and make disciples of the jw church, we have been taught and show the world that you must be part of the borg and follow the gb as the faithful and discreet slave as gods chosen mouth piece!
so with all eyes on the faithful slave his chance to tell the world of this witness he does what?
he says that would be "presumptuous of us.

Did the GB member just pull a Peter? Unbelievable!!!!!
He's not lying, he's just putting on a show of false humility.
It is presumptuous; it's just never stopped them from saying so before.
i thought at the end, stewart made brilliant use of scripture (about establishing fornication or other sexually immoral practises) how, in such a clever way stewart used scripture to point out that some one could basically stake out someone's house to see if a person stayed over night be they homosexual or heterosexual............that on the basis of a sort of stakeout, the two witness rule was ambivalent yet it prevailed.
due to sufficient suspicion.. and therefore why did this "suspicion" not prevail with child sexual abuse.
James Mixon:
[Jackson] did make the point they are open to changes...
That's another lie. There's no way they are going to drop the two eyewitness rule. They aren't even inclined to accept DNA or forensic evidence as alternatives to physical eye witnesses.
They are open to changes, but only in terms of what the word Generation™ means.
okay, i know the royal commission hasn't started yet.
but i'm confident enough that he will be telling some whoppers.
so i thought i'd be the first to get a thread started for something that will begin... very soon now!.
LoveUniHateExams:
it's presumptuous to call him and the rest of the GB "God's mouthpiece"
Well, it is presumptuous, but that's never stopped them before...

Billy:
Even in Bronze Age ancient Israel, it might be older men that were judging at the city gate, but it was conducted in public where all the Jewish mothers could observe and hold the men accountable.
... and then make them a nice brisket.
i'm still trying to catch up on the rc broadcast posted to youtube, and i haven't been able to keep up with everything discussed here about it.
however, there have been a few points that i wish i could submit.
repeatedly it has been stated that unless there is a confession, jcs can only act on testimony if it is corroborated by two or more witnesses to the wrongdoing.
Billy,
I wonder if they read your earlier email...
