Jehovah's witness meetings are NOT BORING......
by punkofnice in...i was told but they usually were as i look back.. as a lad i'd sit and look to see who the lights would fall on.
i'd get an almond and see how long i could suck it before i chewed at it.
i'd imagine playing rock'n'roll on the congregation's piano.. how did you get through the meetings when you were bored?.

On Sunday mornings - the worst ones, cause I've always had insomnia and as a teenager early mornings sucked ...
I love you, dahling, but if you had insomnia, you obviously weren't reading your Watchtower at bedtime.

A polite way to ask someone to keep their hands to themselves...
by White Dove inwhat's a polite way to ask a man to keep his hands to himself while conversing in a group with you?.
this neighbor of mine and i were sitting in chairs on the deck with other people.. he always touched me whenever he said anything to me or i said anything to him.. it was as if he was using touch like an antenna to send and receive signals.. i didn't know what to do, so instead of risking embarrassment for us both, i did nothing but stand up and step away.. i stepped away after he attempted to caress my hamstrings on one leg.. *shudder*.
wonder why 60+ year old men think that a woman being nice to him means she's hot for him.. also wonders why it's only the smoking, beer guzzling, scrawny, bony, and smelly old men who do that.. .

This seems to work for me:
"This is your first and only warning: Any part of you that touches me, you won't be getting back."
It helps if you have a steak knife or a pair of scissors in your hand.

Good idea to check in with your regular doctor - you probably need an anti-inflammatory in addition to the muscle relaxer, and maybe an x-ray to see if there's something else going on. Icing the area is a very good thing to do.
I'd also provide feedback to the chiropractor.
Whenever my SI joint starts acting up, I start taking Aleve (naprosyn) as directed [not advisable if you have allergies to ASA or NSAIDs], applying ice (after 24 hours alternate hot and cold packs), and when I'm in bed, I make a "nest" out of pillows - one between my knees if I'm on my side (or under my knees if I'm on my back), another behind my back to keep it straight, and another in front so I don't twist forward. It sometimes takes a couple of days, but it does seem to make things feel better. I also do an SI stretch exercise that sounds like torture, but I swear by it.
As strange as it sounds, I usually notice back issues flaring up when my walking shoes are approaching the end of their life expectancy. Replacing them on a regular basis seems to help a lot.

Coercion to Refuse Blood
by Marvin Shilmer incoercion to refuse blood.
today i uploaded a new article to my blog documenting instances of inappropriate coercion to have jehovahs witness patients refuse blood.
the article clippings from the early 1950s are a must read.

insidious infiltrate!
by chickpea ini dont know how many times i have thought i had purged my life.
of all the wts litter-ature, only to find that crap still taking up room.
in storage... .

But it's more amazing to get rid of it and have all that extra space in your home!
And yes, I grew up in a home where piles of unplaced WTs and Awakes took up more space than family photo albums could ever hope for... because they were so Importantâ„¢.

dos it really matter if it was a cross or a stake???
by highdose inwhat does it matter?
i belive its been found that the romans used both, so what does it matter?.
what does it matter that the roman word for cross sounds also like a word for another god?.

Scully
No, it doesn't. It's like saying it matters whether Cinderella's dress was pink or blue.

After Exiting the Witnesses - Are you O.K. Not Knowing about the Future ?
by flipper init seems that religion has always been considered the opium of the people.
or at least many tend to gravitate towards religion to have or solidify some sort of future with a supreme being overlooking them hoping to have a reward either in heaven or in the jehovah's witnesses case - living forever in a " paradise earth ".
it seems that people can't just live day to day and let each day come to them with whatever happens.

When I was a JW, I just thought I knew what the future held. It made me rather stupidly arrogant. I like myself better not being stupidly arrogant, and, yes, I'm OK with not knowing what the future holds. All I know for certain is that I will have taxes to pay, and one day I'll be dead and won't have to pay taxes anymore. I'm fine with that.

What if everyone just told the truth ....?
by Will Power inwhat if everyone just told the truth .... about why they are fading?
i wonder what kind of articles would be written?.
"i'm too busy at work" less controlling articles about gathering material things just to show off etc... "i need an education to get a good job" no more guilt over fame, recognition etc.

A lot of people would have hurt feelings....
For example:
"Do these pants make my ass look fat??"
"How was it for you?"
etc., etc.
