Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

My folks were contacted by the JWs when I was 5. Within 3 - 4 years, they were both Baptized™. By the time I was 30 I could smell that the ORG was rotten to its core, and it took another year or so of research, and gently asking Mr Scully questions that eventually got him to realize it was NOT The Truth™, nor anything even close to it. We started fresh on January 1, 1995, before the overlapping Generations crap was published - I'd even said that the GB had to come up with something to explain how, more than 80 years after 1914, the end had not yet come.
So I'm coming up to 30 years OUT since leaving the JWs, plus 5 years before the infestation began in my family. We had a fairly successful fade. I joined JWD shortly after 9/11 and just before the UN/Library Card scandal was revealed.
It mostly doesn't affect me anymore, but the CSA cases are triggering for me. The only thing that kinda helps is knowing that what happened to me wasn't an Isolated Incident™ and that there are other people who understand the shame and the gaslighting that was inflicted on all of us. It disgusts me that pedophiles in the ORG are only just in the past 20 years being held to account for their CRIMES against children.

So What Religion do You Claim to be when Entering Hospital?
by mikronboy ini've had a few medical procedures.
once, i had a massive loss of blood and needed 6 units of blood to replace the loss.
however, i'm curious as to what ex's state to be their religion when filling out the required paperwork when being admitted into a hospital.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but I have to let people know (again) that the Hospital Liaison Committee™ Elders™ would be able to access printouts from the hospital of current in-patients who have JW listed as their religious affiliation. It is IMPERITIVE that you have *ANY* reference to your past JW affiliation REMOVED from your chart if you want to avoid contact with HLC people pretending to provide "pastoral care" to patients in hospital.
I learned this from my own hospitalization over 30 years ago - prior to my admission, I had signed a declaration that I did not want nor need visitation from pastoral services following the birth of my youngest child. Somebody ignored that document: an Elder™ who had access to my CONFIDENTIAL information due to his "Pastoral Care" status. I asked him how he found me and he disclosed that he obtained a list of JW patients who were currently hospitalized. At the time I was a JW in Good Standing™, but I didn't see the need for a visit, since I wasn't sick and was going to be discharged with my baby in 48 hours. The door to my private room was closed. My curtain was pulled. He didn't knock. He didn't announce his presence in my room. He swung open the curtains to find me with my upper body exposed, breastfeeding my baby. He did not excuse himself, nor did he turn away.(*pervert*) In no uncertain terms, I told him that I did NOT WANT nor NEED a Shepherding Call™ because I wasn't sick and I was going to be discharged in a couple of days. He knew I was on the Maternity Ward, and he disregarded my specific written request for privacy. I told him off and gave him shit for interrupting me feeding the baby, and I reported him to the nurse who was looking after me, and she took it very seriously.
If you DO NOT WANT them to find you, YOU MUST UPDATE your hospital records ASAP, before you have a surgical procedure or are involved in a traumatic situation where having a blood transfusion may be vital to your survival.

When I worked at the hospital many moons ago, the nurse educator - an evangelical christian - made the comment to me "If my son chose to be gay, I would be very disappointed." I responded thoughtfully, saying "You know, I don't EVER recall making a choice to be heterosexual, do you?" She didn't say another word, but she looked like she'd been hit by lightning.

We had a few pedophiles (male and female) in the congregation where I grew up. One was Disfellowshipped™ and Reinstated™ *twice*, and later targeted me, at the Book Study™ that was held in *my own home*. Another was a Sister™ who liked grabbing little boys' bottoms and squealed with delight in so doing. The third was an Elder™ (50+ yrs old) who got away with crap like sitting with an older teenaged unbaptized girl in the back seat of a car doing Return Visits™, explaining to her how to put a condom on a man while the other half of the Car Group™ were at the RV, and also corralling her into her bedroom after the Book Study™ at her home and trying to French kiss her. She was intimidated because #1, he was an Elder™ and thought nobody would believe her, and #2 because he had gotten away with it before.
Also my own dad bent over backwards to help anyone in the congregation, and gave them his full attention, and we got the cranky leftovers.

My guess for August WatchTower: GB claims we're in beginning stages of Great Tribulation due to World governments turning on JW's
by WingCommander inthe september watchtower has already been released and is being discussed over on reddit.
some highlights: .
1. more hitting the flock on total reliance and obedience to god's representatives on earth today, the f&ds (the governing body, of course).

Oh my! You poor little thing! <crying emoji> The big bad old Governments are holding your feet to the fire for practices that are harmful to people, particularly children!! HOW DARE THEY WITHOLD PWESSSIOUS MONEY FROM YOUR DRYING UP COFFERS!! It's not YOUR fault that you allow CHILD MOLESTERS, CHILD ABUSERS, WIFE BEATERS and their ilk remain in positions of oversight in the Congregations™, is it now?? And it's not YOUR fault that individual members are likely holding onto their money rather than contributing to your PEDOPHILE DEFENSE FUND, is it??

Pioneer Hours
by Etude indoes anyone know how many hours were required to be a pioneer back in or around 1970?.
etude..

Scully
140 hours for Special™ Pioneers™; 100 for Regular Pioneers™ - don't remember what the quota was for Vacation™ Pioneers™.
But when they changed the title from Vacation™ Pioneers™ to Auxiliary™ Pioneers™ the quota went down a bit to 60 hours, which was meant to be a bit more achievable.
I remember one Brother™ bragged that he opened his bathroom window when he got up, and just as he went in the shower, he tossed a Tract™ out the window to start his Time™.

When JW.org drops 607BCE...
by Nathan Natas inprobably everyone else thought of this long ago, but i, being an "independent thunker" thunk of it just a coupla weeks ago.. we all know that since the year zero (on the fredfranzian calendar) the wtb&ts has defied archaeology and insisted that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, even though the physical evidence shows that 587 bce is a more likely date.
in fact, the book "the gentile times reconsidered: have jehovah's witnesses been wrong all along about 607 bce?
" by carl olof jonsson and rud persson made this conversation public.. it is a difference of 20 years.

There are so many people who were Disfellowshipped™ for not believing that 1914 was a pivotal date in Theocratic History™ - people like our dearly departed Grace Gough, aka Mouthy, must be spinning in her grave at this upcoming nu-lite. The WTS needs to stop the practice of Disfellowshipping™, because they always - like the snake-oil salesmen they are - eventually change their tune. They justify their position, saying that the person Ran Ahead of the Organization™, and were therefore an Apostate™.
I f-ing hate them for ruining family relationships like that.

Watchtower intentionally misleading the court?
by Vanderhoven7 inseems to me wt lawyers and witnesses cannot be trusted even under oath.. mara mitchell writes.
as far as their family members are concerned, normal family relations continue with the exception of spiritual fellowship.”.
attached is a video on how watchtower presents family members being treated by their family when defending themselves in court.. .

David Gnam. Even slimier than he's ever been, waging Theocratic Warfare™ in the Supreme Court of Canada.
Back when we were in the same Congregation™ in western Quebec, he wasn't a WT legal lapdog yet, but he was a mealy-mouthed slimeball even then. He (and his family) even shunned JWs who were struggling to stay regular in Service™ and Meeting Attendance™.
