Also, don't forget that it is adultry when a person is raped. And by the cult's standards one cannot rape (or be raped by) their spouse. And if it is a child that is raped, then they are guilty of having sex before marriage.

i personally disagree and think it’s so controlling that they think they can dictate what goes on behind closed doors between two consenting, legally married married people.

Refusing to Report time in field ministry
by Whynot inwhat do you think would happen if i verbally refuse to report my time?
it's been several months since i turned in my time and i think the elder got tired of asking me lol.
frankly, i think it's stupid that jws are required to do this.

You have gotten some really good advice. I never had anyone bother me about not turning in time. But to be honest, I counted an hour every time I left something on the bus or on a bench somewhere. My numbers were never regular and I never gave good witness at the door (because of anxiety) so I don't think they really care if I reported anything. So, I'm not much help there.
But as for your husband wanted to go back for his friendships, have you considered getting involved in something new... together? Find something social to do that he really enjoys and can really get into. When he has people to hang out with, then he won't think about the people he isn't hanging out with quite so much. It will also help you both fade mentally. Being around people who have no idea what the JWs are really helps you have a more mainstream mentality and that helps you break away. You do better when you set new norms to fall back on.

It’s Stupid That JWs Wont Recognize Birthdays Yet If A Baby Is Born They Will Give Gifts!
by minimus ina witness can’t celebrate and give gifts on a birthday except on the day they are born.
giving a baby shower is ok as well as gift giving—- but only once!

An argument could also be made that baby showers are a way for the community to congratulate a couple for fulfilling God's purpose. Growing up JW as a female I know that there was a lot of pressure to 'marry and have kids' but even women who had kids out of wedlock, or were single parents, or who had kids with a non-JW father still all had baby showers, though the stuff they got wasn't as nice or to the same quantity.
People who get baptized get presents too. Any time people did something that was conforming to the 'JW' way, they got presents. Heck, if you go out in service regularly you get to go out to lunch with other witnesses.
