It's called patriarchy.
If you want men to stop wanting to be in control... you would need to change our society from a patriarchy into something else. Is there even a word for a society that isn't ruled and controlled by a specific gender?

pass around a paper that had a place for head of house hold name and how much they can afford to give every month for one year.
but i remember the elders said they needed to know what they can bank on to know what they can afford to borrow to remodel ect.

My mother experienced having an epiphany and seeing a light over 45 years ago. Then she started partaking. I have a cousin who saw light in her middle age and began partaking. It's a calling. Many people in many religions have callings. Many people in the world have callings regardless of their religious or spiritual beliefs. A calling cannot be questioned by other people. People will question. They will have opinions they feel they have to tell you. But a calling isn't like a desire. It is more like a need. It is a certainty that you have been called to a specific type of service. So, you partake. You do not need to tell anyone ahead of time. You do not need to ask anyone's permission. And when people question your motives, as they will do, you do not need to reassure them. Your calling is your calling. It does not require anyone else's understanding, nor permission to be your calling.
Having said this, a 'calling' is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly. Partaking of the bread and the wine on Memorial is a serious ritual and tradition among the Jehovah's Witnesses and regardless of my own personal feelings about the JWs, I think that any tradition or ritual that has great value to any group of people should be treated with respect. While I am willing to admit that I would be willing to partake in order to make a statement of defiance against the Watchtower or against JW.org, I would not advocate partaking on a whim, as a prank, nor just to try it out. Have some respect for the people that hold this tradition/ritual in high regard.
Having known someone who was 'anointed' all my life, I can honestly say that I wouldn't wish that status on my worst enemy. It isn't a good status among the JWs. No one with that calling is taken seriously. Women with that calling are treated even more poorly than women without that calling. Even the few elders that I knew with that status were treated like they were loony-toons. No one took them seriously. If you have to have a calling, I sincerely hope that you have a calling to leave the JWs, or to go help people who will thank you for the help you offer. Be a firefighter or a teacher. I mean, if you have to have a calling... try for one of those. If you have to have a calling where you are a slave to humanity... consider being a trashman or a janitor. You will get more respect in those fields than as an anointed member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Tesla makes luxury electric cars. They tried to make an economy car a couple of years ago and they couldn't get it under $30,000 which is way too high for most regular car buyers. Tesla went back to the drawing board for an economy car but have yet to come out with one that would satisfy the requirements for economy cars. His cars are expensive because they are luxury cars and because he has a patent on the best battery. He can afford to sell his cars at a higher price.
Other car brands are making electric cars at much more affordable prices, but none of the brands... not even Tesla has a fully functioning SUV that fits both safety standards and a good battery life.
To be honest, the US model is in danger of going out of business. China and the EU are banning petroleum based vehicles by 2035. That's an extension from the original 2024 deadline, but it is still coming. And yes, China has electric buses and heavy haul vehicles already. Everyone who has been paying attention knows that electric vehicles are the way of the future and American brands are well behind everyone else. Pretty soon, our gas prices will drop because we will be the only country using them to any great extent.
Personally, I don't care who was invited to Biden's summit. He is a dinosaur playing with cavemen. I don't care what they play at or who they exclude. The people who are paving the way for the future... are making US brand names and US government agencies redundant.
It's like NASA saying the Bezos of the world cannot call themselves astronauts. NASA doesn't live up to it's own standards. That means that the new guys are going to create new standards and new definitions of those words and the old guys are going to be left behind running in the dust.

I was researching the easiest bible to read (which the JW bible is not) and the best way to buy one online at low cost and it got me thinking. The JW.org is doing videos and has a website. Have they joined the order-online phenomenon that is going on in the world today? Can a regular person order a free bible from them? Can JW order a free bible from them online and what would they have to do in order to do that? Or is the publication system the same as it has always been and you have to get them from the elders/ministerial servants?
Does anybody know how this works these days?

You can be mentally in the JW and still be disobedient. I mean... all those people living double lives are mentally out?? I don't think so. There is more to being mentally engage than being the best JW a person can be. It's complicated and layered. A person can absolutely be physically and mentally in and still be on this site. There is a reason we discuss cognitive dissonance so much and this would be a good example of how it would work to be mentally in and also a member of this site.
