is it fair play?what i am asking is about fairness and honor concerning god's actions toward physical fleshly humans and his actions toward spirit creatures.first his actions toward spirit creatures.they get to see god.they get to live without growing old and dying.they have no worries about losing loved ones in death.im speaking about those spirit creatures who do not go along with those who have rejected god.now, god's actions toward those physical fleshly creatures.that is those that like the spirit creatures who do not go along with those who rejected god.they dont get to see god.they don't get to live without growing old and dying.they have worries about losing loved ones in death.is this fair play?both creatures who have not rejected god get different treatment .
your thoughts on this question will be very much appreciated blueblades
It would maybe be possible to see fair play if 'god' was not something cobbled together from summarian/babylonian/egyptian mythology by a magician/murderer called moses, so that he could become the leader of his people.
Beleiving in god brings no reward, but as moses proved, inventing a god, brings leadership of the people on oneself and preisthood/tithes/honour on ones family.
If god exists then the people who profess to believe in god would be ' godly', history shows that 'religious' people have caused more death/pain/suffering than anyone/anything else.
I base my judgement of god on the actions of 'gods representatives' so far I have seen nothing that shows god to be anything other than a tool for people to use against their fellows.

a recent thread got me quite interested in this, as i was amazed to hear that some people have seen "demonic" looking picture in dub publications; i do remember being shown by a dub in the revelatiopn book a picture of jehovah (or jesus, i cant remember ) smashing something with a big rod, adn there is a hideous lloking claw, reaching up trying to grap the stick (or sceptre i cant remember what it was) sorry if this post is really incoherant, i just had two double vodkas with vanilla coke!!.
anyway, i was quite astonished ot read that others have seen other images.
what im after in this thread is a list of where people have seen these images and in what publications; i remember showing this certain picture to my family and them saying "are you really trying to tell me that jehovah would allow the demons to do this in his publications.
If the Watchtower put the images in the pictures.........................WHY ?
If a disgruntled or misguided artist put them there........................WHAT WAS GOD THE EDITOR DOING ? HAVING AN OFF DAY ?

i am beginning to wonder if there is some kind of physical brain wiring that makes some people more likely to accept religion, even when believing in a certain supernatural paradigm presents numerous absurdities.
christians seem to be able to convince themselves of the following: .
) the god described in the bible is real, yet the god(s) of other religions are not (a variation: other religions are satanic deceptions).
So we each carry our own god around in our heads ?
OK I;ll buy that.
The problem is with the ones who feel compelled to force their god on others, especially the ones who have a book that ' proves ' they are better than the ones who dont.

the new star trek movie, "nemesis" is premiering on december 13, 2002. i am really looking forward to it.
although i grew up with the original, i must admit to a certain fondness for the next generation and to captain picard.
the original or the next generation?

the deeper you look into, clearer picture is emerging that god had not any input in these writings at all.
there are many verses, even whole passages which exist in some editions and in some they do not.. he evidently didn't supervised writers or copyists and we have plenty of evidences of that, his name in nt included.. since gospels of peter or thomas are not regarded as valuable and important documentations of jesus' life, only one conclusion comes to my mind.. as a moral guide the bible is an excellent book, written by... men!.
highly recommended!.
Anything can be ' proved from the bible '
Anything can be ' disproved ' from the bible '
My opinion ? The bible is a great book to use if you want to be really nasty and evil to your fellow man and feel justified about it. You may also gain great riches by being able to control prople and collect money ' in the name of god '
As to living your life by a book that claims to be true and offers as proof that the claim is in the book that is claiming to be true, well all I can say is, I have a great Island for sale, it is invisible, but you know that it is there because I have just written about it, the person who sends me the most money will be sent the deeds to the island.

personally i've always enjoyed a good argument; especially with people who are more intelligent than i am.
when i was younger, and more energetic, i would sometimes take the opposite side just to stimulate the discussion.
the one thing that has always put me off though is when the argument devolves into name calling or obscenity.
Argument.......A discussion in which reasons are put foreward in support of, and against a proposition, proposal or case.
Name Calling......A tactic used by a person or persons who have nothing to say, but insist on saying it very loudly.
