Interesting.

I never saw that earlier "Did Man Get Here By Evolution or By Creation?" book. I bet it would be pretty easy to debunk...

Is Evolution an Established Fact?

ORGANIC EVOLUTION
Evolution, in the sense that it is applied to plants, animals and man is said to be the transforming of one kind of life into another kind. A writer in the Houston Post of August 23, 1964, defined it this way: "Evolution, in very simple terms, means that life progressed from one-celled organisms to its highest state, the human being, by means of a series of biological changes taking place over millions of years."

Wrong. Evolution is not life transforming into another kind of life. That's not even what Darwin suggested a century before this book was published. And humans are NOT the highest goal of evolution, as if every other species should be trying to evolve into humans. Geez.

Evolution is change in genetic frequency over time, change in heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. No species has ever resulted from evolution by natural selection twice, for the same reason that you do not have an identical twin cousin. All species are transitional, including humans. Kudos for quoting a journalist in Houston to define and clarify evolution, rather than a biologist or biology textbook.

This is nice because that's how unreasonable they were even then.

its certainly not the organization known as the wtb&ts ./jehovahs witnesses religion .. and why is that ?

satans system of things with jehovahs blessing , has programs to look after those who have such needs , such as the dole for unemployed ,medical assistance for those who cant afford it ,and their are many charitable institutions that look after those that fall in the cracks.

Especially this includes tax exemptions for the most undeserving charity of all time; the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society.

@Half banana, it's snowing out. I'm going to buy a truck load of new socks and donate them to the WTBTS so the kingdom hall here can donate them to the needy.

I used to do it myself when i was "in". Or the born agains, they were hated even more i think. I think there's jealousy there because the Catholic church is so rich, more members and has a rich history. I dont believe in any religion but you cant just highlight negative aspects of another religion just to move focus away from ones own.

@pale.emperor, it's just like anything else that you know is kinda of wrong but it's part of the group enforcement and rationalization, so you do it.

I have friends who play the "At least we're not _____" card all the time, out of desperation, when they realize they have no other defense.

It is not a valid argument, it's just an annoying political diss. We should be better than that.

in case you were wondering if the governing body we're going to become kinder and gentler, the answer is a big "no!!!

in the current study edition of the wt magazine, the sheeple are reminded of some very important key points.

1) god has an organization ( corporation ) that you must respect.. 2) only the gb/faithful slave can dispense spiritual food and only the gb/faithful slave can interpret the bible.. 3) individual dubs absolutely cannot learn "truth" on their own.. 4) god requires "unity of doctrine.

why is it that i understand the bible more clearly today then all my years in the organization (jw)???

?many religious people believe the average person cannot understand the bible..maybe the reasons (1) they may have tried to study the bible and found it difficult, so they gave up.

(2) maybe they believe truth is subjective;so whatever you believe,that is truth for you.

Yeah. Apparently if you just read the Bible honestly and without prejudice, you could come across all the contradictions, misogyny, slavery, war crimes, rape, violent hatred for gays (not really homophobia, just hatred and slaughter) and maybe decide this isn't the god of love after all.

No updated Watctower's articles on Evolution

as far as i know, the "creation" book is out of print ?, am i right?.

well, i was searching for new watchtower articles trying to debunk, for instance, human evolution.

so, i did my homework, for the first time, so as to read past and updated papers and books on human evolution.

Bottom line is that the WTS doesn't reject evolution because it's implausible, lacks evidence, or is inherently "atheistic"...
...they reject it because WT cosmology requires the Eden creation narrative in Genesis to be literal history; it doesn't really work otherwise.
Looking back, it was the realization that evolution had to be true - and, more importantly, that the WTS could never budge on it - that started me down the XJW path, in fact.

Me too, Vidiot. That was quite an epiphany for me.
