Has anyone read the book 'The Shining'?
by lfcviking ini'm not much of a reader really, but i'm halfway through reading this book at the moment and i am really enjoying it.
stephen king has such a wild imagination, he really is a truly talented man.. i loved the film aswell, i think jack nicholson's acting in this film is sublime.
jack's acting combined with king's imagination, and stanley kubrick's directing combine to form a true masterpiece.. any other fans of this book/film?.

MAgnesium and my migraine
by Vivamus inwell, first off, to you whom suggested magnesium to me, thank you (i think) .
my headaches have been a constant source of misery for me since my last desperate post regarding them.
but i did start on the magnesium treatment.

I hope it works! One thing I thought was interesting lately. I started going to a chiropractor because 10 years of getting headaches in the back of my head and upper neck finally got to me. He took x-rays and showed me on the x-ray what had been doing it. several of my vertebrae were shoved to one side, compressing one of the blood vessels in the side of my neck. He said if it were compressed any more I'd be getting migraines. It was just something that made me think of you when he said that. Have you by any chance had your neck checked out? I can honestly say that one week of going to the chiropractor my neck feels the best it has in 10 years.
The magnesium may take awhile to start working. Sometimes if you're low enough the intestines lose the ability to efficienty absorb it and then it takes a magnesium IV or transdermal magnesium to build the body back up to where it can be absorbed orally again... just one of the quirks with magnesium.

Remember, as of 1996 500,000+ Iraqi children had been killed. The price was worth it according to Madeleine Albright!

Did the WT Discourage Platonic Friendships Between Men & Women ?
by flipper inmy wife and i have discussed this before , and it has been an education for me getting out of the jehovah's witnesses over 4 years ago to see the difference in how witnesses and non-witnesses view this subject .
my wife before we met had some guy friends who she had non sexual friendships with and she was amazed when we first started dating when i told her how strict the witnesses were on men and women hanging out together alone just as friends , and that when i was a witness i never did that - at the risk of being falsely dragged before a committee if i was found in public alone with a witness woman !
my wife was amazed at the lack of trust that the elders had in each one of us as rank and file members !

Not just YES but HELL YES. This was always a sore spot when I was growing up. I felt like I was segregated away from women, except ones that were my mother's friends and 10 times my age. However, I will say that now I realize some of it was I was purposely being kept away from a lot of the young ladies since 1. I wasn't spiritual enough (although I was very well-liked) and 2. I was competition for the other guys. oh well, payback's a bitch sometimes. ;-)
