So true ,Smiddy! It’s a books full of writings from all over the levant put together first by the Greeks then the Roman Catholics changed and changed again then in 1611 a English version is put out called the King James yet its changed again by 1638. The Bible is a shit show of stupid stories and ideas that don’t even make sense with contradictions galore.

I love it That JW`s Worship A God Named by The Catholics ,And Follow The Bible Of the protestants .
by smiddy3 inthe tetagrammaton 4 hebrew letters representing gods name in the hebrew scriptures as jhvh or more likely yhwh .. the name jehovah was unheard of before the 13th century simply because no one beforehand had added vowels to those four hebrew consonants representing gods name .. and then comes along a spanish catholic monk of the 13th century that adds vowels to those 4 hebrew consonants and he comes up with the name jehovah.. a name that the catholic church has used in and on churches since the 13th century throughout europe and elsewhere in the world.. and lo and behold the g.b.of jehovah`s witnesses in their wisdom stated in the first edition of the "aid to bible understanding" that they chose the name jehovah as the correct pronunciation of gods name because it was the most popular name in use in the world ?
logically by christendom `s religions ,who else ?.
then their is the bible cannon that all of the major christian religions have different books that they feel should make up the bible.. protestant religions .

Iran vs. Israel - could it be the beginning of Armageddon?
by tartarus ini have recently read in the news that an attack on iran is planned sometime after the olympics in beijing.
here's a bit of background to it:.
when irans fledgling democracy was overthrown with support of cia the shah of iran was giving israel free oil thru a pipeline that still runs thru saudi arabia to a refinery in the israeli city of haifa.

At every former battle fought at Armageddon the Israelites or Jews lost.

If King of North/South was true, would it be about Islam?
by Bad_Wolf inreading it in daniel 11, especially towards the end, 11:40-45, if king of the north would be christianity/usa/jews(if they do control usa), and king of the south, islam.
in those end the king of the south is mainly an irritant.
not much power, and the king of the north has big armies and power, so overtakes the middle east.

The book was written closer to the 1st century and was about the two of the Greek empires that were created after the death of Alexander.

by john.prestor inso i went to the memorial the other night, there's a kingdom hall on the bus route back from a local college where i was doing some research and admiring the architecture.

Congregation memorial stats
by nowwhat? in2 congregations met together attendance 355 which is close to exact number of combined publishers.
only saw a couple of new faces.
so it looks like once again the invitation work was a complete failure and relatives of jw's couldn't be talked into coming anymore!.

Went to a assembly building for memorial but they always change up what and how many congregations go every year so there’s no way to tell real numbers. I did notice a lot of young men and woman that looked like they were only there because of pestering by parents. A lot of bearded men.

The way his family has reacted to you is an example of what JWs are like. It hurts like hell now but you’ll realize it’s the best for you not to date someone in a cult, it doesn’t end well.

Mandatory Vaccinations...are you for or against ??
by minimus inthere’s now a measles outbreak.
there is a jewish sect in new york that refuses vaccines.
some parents do not want their children vaccinated..
-
Crazyguy2
One study found that vaccinated kids didn’t get diseases from none vaccinated nor should they since they have been vaccinated. “Houston we have a problem “ . I’m not against vaccination but something is defiantly wrong when vaccinated are getting the diseases their not supposed to get.
Vaccines should be done in a slow responsible way so as to not do harm to the children. Also we should not be vaccinated against diseases that really do no major harm. When they came up with the Ebola vaccine they soon realized their were other strains that they had no vaccine for. So maybe these new out breaks of measles are new strains man hasn’t come up with a vaccine for?

If shunning were no longer a JW policy, how many would leave the Org?
by HiddenPimo inadditionally - if this shunning rule was removed and everyone was made aware of the dirty secrets of the org.. (e.g.
csa-arc / un membership / malawi - mexico contrast / etc.).
would those leaving be higher?.

by William Penwell innot sure if this topic has being covered recently.. my son asked me a question if the jw's have in the recent months being pushing a new end date to the system?
he was telling me about how his mother has being on him again about the urgency of the end of this system of things and he needs to do something asap.
i told him i am not aware of any new dates as i have being away from the cult for over 20 years.

How Do You Think The USA Should Allow Illegal Immigrants To Freely Flow Into The Country?
by minimus inmany people have said there is no emergency at the border for people illegally coming into the country and furthermore we have an obligation to help these people in a humanitarian way come through.
.
do you think we can just keep on taking in all of these people?

Illegal immigration kills countries from an economically. It no different then sending all the jobs overseas just their coming here. In away it’s worse because when they get here they use government services and healthcare and give not much of anything back.
Its been stated that most immigrants from Latin America send half their paychecks back to their country of origin so they don’t even spend as much here as a legal civilians. It’s a giant sucking of the economy. Jobs stay low paying because illegals will work them and Americans can’t.
I feel for the immigrants and would come here myself if I was one but long term it’s not good for this country.
