Don't be upset or discouraged. It seems that Jesus's followers saw and heard him first hand, and still "didn't get it".

Mary Magdeline "got it", and because she was a woman, they labeled her as a harlot. Jesus had more affection for her than anyone else. That says so much, especially since the religious leaders refused to include her writings as part of the bible we know today. Why were they so afraid of her?

For me, the most important thing that the enlightened Jesus taught us was how to show love and compassion in all things. He could do that, because he truly understood his connection to the divine and he used the gifts of the spirit freely. We are very far from that today, but it is really a part of who we are.

Find out who you are, learn to love yourself, and you will be very surprised at how your perception of life changes.

This is something that you have to do for yourself, as it is the journey of the soul. Remember the saying: "today is the first day of the rest of your life"? Well, there is much truth in that for sure.

Covering up bathroom mirrors at the assemblies!!!

this was one of the craziest things i remember about the summer conventions.

i would go into the sister's bathrooms and the mirrors would all be taped up with brown paper so that we couldn't look at our reflections.

were were amish or something?

As I recall, this was beginning to happen in the early '80's. Apparently, women seemed to take more time in the bathrooms, and the lines were noticeably longer than the "mens". So, they covered up the mirrors, so that women wouldn't be tempted to check their makeup or fix their hair. It sickens me at the "control" they tried to keep on our activities--even in the restroom.

Of course, they didn't want folks looking at their reflection of "unhappiness" in the mirror. It might make them "think".

Osama's Physician is Surrounded

the big news on tv right now--and it's dark on that side of the world-- is that the afghans have corraled the #2 man right next to osama.

this is a very intelligent egyptian physician who travels with him all the time.

it is not known whether osama is with him or not right at the moment.

I'm getting so that I just don't believe what I hear anymore, even on the local news. Apparently, someone got some information screwed up big time. My husband heard it was the Afghans as well who had the area surrounded.....oh well.

I too heard that the #2 fellow was the brains; but he is also a physician. Osama needs constant medical care. Doesn't it make sense that he would also be the one taking care of him medically?

everything in this life can be used to transform us, to bring us closer to our spiritual essence and our dreams.

we are either using life in our favor or we are using it against ourselves.

Look for the good and leave the rest behind.

We can't grow unless we allow the sun to shine on us.

Blaming ourselves for past errors in judgement is frutal. Those events are behind us. Take what you have learned from the experience and use it to change and grow.

So sad that these beautiful creatures are fading away. When I was a child, butterflies were so plentify, especially the buttercup ones, a perfect bright yellow. When a butterfly lights on you, it is said you are receiving a blessing.

When we sight a monach around here now, it is quite rare. Also, there doesn't seem to be as many bees either.

i don't know what eles to call it , i guess it is the user name....lol.......so what does yours mean?.

i think awhile back i might have asked this,,,,,,,but it was way back and so many new ones here that i am just getting to know, and ones who came in here while i was not here as much.

there may be a thread on this in the last recent months, i am not sure,,,,if so, if there are any new ones who want to tell why they choose their user names,,,,,please do.. i will tell you why my name is lyineyes,,,,,many have asked me that here lately.

Thanks Yerusalyim. I can tell that just within several hours, the news release are "changing" a bit. That is what I hate most about "the news". They project so much into it.

You do have the facts as they are now--and thanks for your post(s). Let's hope they do have this #2 fellow. Quite a resistance if it isn't him. Maybe it is in fact Osama, and not #2.

It's a wait and see.

Operation Set Next Month

finally, today, we not only got our "second opinion" about the large cyst in hubby's chest, but the thoracic surgeon has set the surgery for it's complete removal, a month from today.

we are so very relieved at this point.

he is a qualified doctor that actually took time to listen to us and answer all our concerns.

Thanks so much Sassy and Xandria. I've been waiting, because there just wasn't any real news.

He wants to ask the doctor if we could keep it. Does that sound weird? I must admit, I'm curious about it myself. It's just a part of him that he carried around for so long, and he wants to have it.

They will probably send it away for testing anyway. So I doubt there wouldn't be much left--since it is fluid filled.

Hopefully, during this next four weeks, his other problem in his abdomen will have additional time to heal. Not quite sure what it is, but doctor thinks it's not so much a Ventral Hernia, but torn tissue/muscle/scar tissue from prior gullbladder surgery years ago. He doesn't want to do an exploratory along with the removal of the cyst, which is probably wise.

The love and compassion of my friends here is most heartwarming.

Finally, today, we not only got our "second opinion" about the large cyst in hubby's chest, but the Thoracic surgeon has set the surgery for it's complete removal, a month from today. We are so very relieved at this point. He is a qualified doctor that actually took time to listen to us and answer all our concerns. This has gone on now since right before Christmas--when he took a fall, and the x-rays not only showed two broken ribs, but this mass in his chest, the diameter of a softball, and about nine inches long!! Further tests indicate that it is growing and "appears to be fluid", so cancer is very unlikely.

I highly recommend the Winchester Medical Center in VA; it is clean, orderly and respectful of the patient and family. He will be there one week and then back home to recooperate for six to eight weeks. We are thankful he has built up his sick leave so he can still get paid while missing work. Also, we are thankful for our good insurance coverage through Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

The doctor told us that he believes hubby's lungs, bronchial tubes and heart will be very happy indeed to have this "creature" removed. They will have lots more room! This condition of "brochial-genic cyst" is very rare. The fetus developes the bronchial tubes, and the lungs are formed--and then there is this other growth that is neither lung nor bronchia, but continues to survive for some unknown reason--attached mainly to the bronchial tube. He's had this in him forty-nine years!!

Just wanted to let friends know the latest update.
