You need to get real. I think a video is funny, and now I am culturally insensitive and my world view is off?? If others don't get ASL, that is not my problem; deal with them. I am not responsible for educating every fool out there, that seems to be your job. WTF?? You don't know me at all.

King Solomon: alone the name you have picked says a lot about you - will you strike us all with gawds wrath? Beheading or Stoning, which will it be? You come off as self-righteous and treat people in a condescending way, because "OMG, DISABLED PEOPLE". I have worked with disabled people and believe me they are more chilled than you think. I bet deaf persons are laughing about the video, because it IS RIDICULOUS.

EVERYBODY finds this video funny. Period. Now you can consider 90% of the world "insensitive assholes", I DON'T CARE! ALL of us had for way too long to justify every one of our human instincts, reactions, laughter, giggling, sexual urges before a body of crippling old man, I had all my Life to ask and re-ask if something was "right" "OK" or "correct".

You know what? I will laugh AND fap to this video if I want so. Go deal with it. I am not here to justify myself, i laughed hard, hell I had tears laughing at this video. I just expressed my normal human, first reaction and it feels damn good! If you think I will go to hell for this, than so be it. At least the party will be fun. If hell exists (it doesn't!) I sure hope it will finally be free of people like you and most elders and CO's and whatnot.

King Solomon: you can read it up in the Youtube comments, where others explain this. Also some of the links direct to other websites where people explain this to each other (Google search will give you plenty of Forums where the discussion is past the initial "LOL, Faces and Wankers", now it gets to a whole new level of: WHY? WHY? ex-JW chiming in and more. Good stuff. Well worth to stick around.

Cedars: Your discussions on Youtube > Top notch, well balanced. Better than many JW commenters.

For what its worth (you are right King Solomon, sometimes you don't have the "luxury" of using the most "elegant" "weapons" - anyway, this was NOT a low blow created by ex-JW. Mind you, this was created by THEMSELF and someone picked it up and "Oopps" it ended up on the bad, bad Internet, the rest is history.

I should add a SIXTH REASON why this video is so important!

6. Never before has a video created such intense reactions from Witnesses AGAINST something that the "Faithful Slave" has produced. Some of them calling this "crap" and "the brothers" IDIOTS! They are turning against "the mother". If they don't know that it comes from the Society > negative reactions -normal human behaviour with their OWN thinking processes still intact (or it seems so! Once they know: "OMG, its from US!!!" > Panic settles in and they change their opinion (therefore showing that they don't have their own opinion).

The most interesting aspect, from a psychological standpoint (AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS STUDIED by someone versed in Psychology/Sociology):

Step 1: Limited Dub goes onto Youtube - watches Video, screams: "YOU PIGS, this is NOT FROM US"

Step 2: Goes on to check the facts.

Step 3: Comes back (never apologizes to the "stupid wordly folks"!!!!) and starts defending in front of the masses whatever he bashed ONLY ONE HOUR ago! Then ends the discussion with: by the way, we are NOT A CULT! Obvious for everybody else that they JUST showed BEST CULT BEHAVIOUR, and STILL denying it. It is unbelievable - and GOOD STUFF!

I read a couple of discussions like the aforementioned one in a Brazilian Forum. The Cognitive Dissonance in REAL LIVE action, viewable, measurable by everyone - only not by the poor dub that now has to create mental Yoga to defend whatever he disliked.

I understand King Solomons concerns and personally share the opinion that we should respect the deaf. Although I might add the following, very interesting, added value for deaf communities:

1. People are not mocking the deaf per se or the language. It is a silly combination and a rather unlucky combination of things that make this funny for many viewers. A religion trying to put rules on normal, human activities - the combination "deaf masturbation and sect" just made it exotic, niche-like and sparked worldwide interest. If you notice most people are NOT mocking deaf persons. They are dumbfonded by the stupidity of an organization that uses resources to enforce something that is MORE than a stupid rule.

Maybe you are not aware, but young people have committed suicide over the shame, guilt and constant bad conscience about things like these!

2. Good, positive side effect: you will notice this only if you read around the different forums. This is creating POSITIVE effects for the deaf and sign language communities. Many, many people asking: WOW, does he have to do these gestures. Many others answering how Sign Language works, deaf persons chiming in (without being all "arms up, this is outrageous") and explaining how their language works and how using emotions is necessary. Heck I've read comments about people wanting to learn the language now! I think most mature, grown up humans are not mocking people with disabilities and this is creating a positive, free PR campaign. Believe me, Sign Language is getting good, well deserved attention. Many of the commenters didn't knew that a deaf person can't read regular written words.

There is no harm here - people laugh all the time about others that have a funny accent. Hell, American Idol participants became famous and made good money out of their unique, funny way of singing. I've seen a famous chinese guy getting millions of hits on Youtube because of his funny english pronunciation.

Now, the second brother could disfellowship himself and show up at Oprah, CBS or whatever Show he could get in. He could make a ton of cash. Some people in one of the forums are saying that they would pay money to see him as a comedian, that they never saw someone be so perfectly expressive. Sad enough, we all know that he is using his skills for the wrong organization.

In another forum some guy wants to collect donations for a deaf charity.

This is the good stuff that I am seeing. There will always be people that are idiots, but this will be with or without this video.

As some of you have noticed the ASL video warning against masturbation (another guilt trip) is creating waves. This is not small fry. Here is why:

1. It is humorous - most topics (like other policies) are serious/depressing (blood, shunning, pedos). Not that they are not important to create awareness, but nothing spreads as fast as humour and laughing - it shortcuts every brain circuit in split seconds! People "get it" in one second how retarded such policies are and become open for other, more serious discussions.

Basically "Humour" is only the "back door". Highly sought after in PR/Media and Marketing campaigns. This video is Golden!

2. Spreading is NOT coming from ex-JW (uploader and others are non-ex JW) which gives this more power. This time "we" are "clean"

3. People are getting really upset about someone taking this "little luxury" from them. Obviously this is more important to some than talking about the Cross, Trinity or Hell. Take my eternal Life, but don't take my wanking sessions from me. Hahahaha.

4. Video is public material - not some secret document that is being handed out illegally and that no one believes to be true - NOPE! This baby is REAL, and DOWNLOADABLE from the Official Wankertower Website. Everybody can take 30 seconds to check if it is true or not. Interesting to see how things unfold: the first 48 hours we saw a wave of Witnesses getting upset and screaming "FAKE! YOU PIGS"....now that they had the chance to check it out, they come back again with "OOOOHHH, THIIIIS....yes totally legit and I will explain why it is important and very noble to spread the message" Some made real fools of themselves.

Rubbing hands here (no pun intendend, damn, why does it get so difficult to discuss this without puns)

5. The GB is in an classical "check mate" situation: THEY produced the Video, THEY put it online & public, now the whole world is laughing. What to do? Take out ONE chapter out of a fully publicised publication? Showing therefore some hardcore CENSORSHIP attitude? Leave it and endure the heat? Leave it and fight off the "ilegal use" of this? People will download it even more if it gets taken down. This is a loss-loss situation for the GB. I'm curious to see how they will handle this one. They must be shitting their pants about this PR nightmare.

I never thought that wanking would put a crack in the tower. Not failed prophecy, shunning policies - nope! Simply: rubbing one out. This is why the Internet is the most amazing invention since sliced bread!

McRubberMallet: I "served" for 6 years in the Service Department of a Branch Office. I would rather not prefer to say in which one, not because of myself (I don't care what "they" think - I'm disassociated) but there are people that work "undercover" or are "closet apostates" (even attending branch schools etc.) and I don't want to "rat them out" with too many details. I can share a couple of fun stories, but still have to be careful because of them.

some of them have been disturbing dreams dealing with jw expereiences as i was a jw from birth until age 44 when i exited 9 years ago.

I am very glad that you posted this. I thought that I was the only one and it has become annoying.

The strange thing is that I became 5 years ago inactive and since 1 1/2 year I have been out (disassociated myself). Lately this dreaming has begun. I don't come here anymore and don't occupy my mind mit JW stuff and yet I dream every other night about things that are Bethel related. I often dream of people that I had friendship during my Bethel time. I wake up, upset or sad.

I can rest assure you that this thing is real. I had to review hundreds of them, during my work in the Service Department.

There is another one for internal use (similar to this one, color of paper is different): for Bethelites, DO's and higher ups. You should have read the comments. Some CO's would go into creepy, extended details about the person. Some CO's would not be satisfied with just answering these questions. Nope. They had to add lengthy letters with whatever dirt they could find about the individual.

Internal ones had another color, to distinguish them from "regular folks", also to give them higher confidentiality status (you don't want a report like this one about the DO "mixed up" with regular pioneers.

Some of them where very very funny to read. But that is topic for another thread.

The wife thing is: some CO's where dumb like wood and would recommend a couple for Circuit Work or for Bethel, but the husband was, for Dub-World really some lazy materialistic "pig", wifey would put in a gazillion of hours, recruit every neighbour and their dog. This is a bad combination.

Oh, before everybody starts welcoming me. You already did. I've been a member of this site for the past 6 years (lurking/posting), but lost my password and can't remember which of the fake emails was used to register - at the time I "needed" to remain "undercover" - not needed anymore - you know why > out and free.

I just had to go through a phase of not reading/thinking ANYTHING JW related. Becoming an ex-ex-JW. Now it is all better. Thanks to you all.

Hope I contributed to a good laugh. Taking things with a good dose of humour helps. I wish you all a nice weekend.
