"The WT is ignoring the Jewish calender which this year is a leap year and adds an extra month...the WT sticks to the first full moon in the spring equinox."
But the "reasoning book" says that "The beginning of the month of Nisan was the sunset after the new moon nearest the spring equinox became visible in Jerusalem. The Memorial date is 14 days thereafter."
here is a good Youtube video from Mike and Kim:

JW Version Of Spring Cleaning
by JW_Rogue infrom the january study edition second study article paragraph 10:.
we can use the memorial season as an opportunity to look through our wardrobe, our movie and music collections, perhaps even the material stored on our computers, smartphones, and tablets.if i were going to a place where jesus would be present, would i feel uncomfortable wearing this clothing?if i did wear it, would it be obvious to all that i am a follower of christ jesus?would jesus be entertained by watching this movie or by listening to this music?
if he borrowed my cell phone or tablet, would i be embarrassed by what he saw there?as you consider the subject matter of a video game, ask yourself: would i find it difficult to explain to jesus why i enjoy playing it?

JW Child Abuse Documentary
by cappytan inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulswb2avxvc.
let's set aside our differences for the moment and appreciate this excellent documentary cedars put together that should prove to be an invaluable tool in helping to expose the child abuse issues in the organization.. i was humbled to be able to help with this project on such an important subject, though my part in it was insignificant..

I started watching it for only 10 minutes this morning but couldn´t continue watching because I had to get ready for work. BUT I immediately had a feeling that this video is going to be a really great one! I can´t wait to watch the entire video tomorrow morning!! I just LOVE John Cedars´videos! Can´t wait for the rebuttle of the February Broadcast as well. I hope that one day soon I can show this to my mom and sister. I hope that this can wake them up! -

OKAY, GAME OVER! The number one reason the New Testament amounts to bunk
by Terry infor me, the dead giveaway is this.
jesus wrote nothing.. stop and think about that.. if jesus were the authentic messiah, his ministry would not simply be local.. his instructions, his mission, the details of his teachings would be too precious to risk leaving it in the hands of "men unlettered (illiterate) and ordinary (blue-collar yokels).".
jesus, were he the one and only hope of mankind, would be absolutely certain to write down with great simplicity and specificity the exact owner's manual necessary to rescue mankind.. never happened!.

Another 'ah hah' moment for me was finding out that NONE of the authors of the Bible ever met Jesus and that the gospels were written well after the events occurred by people who were not there but wrote it in Greek, not Aramaic.
@Heaven: how can you say that NONE of the authors of the Bible met Jesus when the Apostels Matthew, John, Peter and also Jesus´ own brother James wrote parts of the Bible??? My husband always says the same thing (but he has no clue about the Bible since he´s muslim). -

Toasting is Pagan - How many contradictions can fit in 2 pages, I found 5?
by jwfacts inthe watchtower 2007 feb 15 pp.30-31 explains why jehovah's witnesses are not to toast.
what is astounding is that for each point they then go on an explain why the point is irrelevant, yet still conclude toasting is wrong.
what did people think when reading this?

The same thing with ankle bracelets! My sister said that she was told that sisters should not wear ankle bracelets because in Biblical times only prostitutes wore ankle bracelets, with bells on them. So when I wore one (without the bells of course) to the meeting on a summer day one time my mom and my sister gave me the stare and said that I could have taken it off for the meeting at least. I didn't take it off but they did make me feel uncomfortable just with their way of saying it and their look. Also before the 1920's only prostitutes and stage people at theatres wore lipstick and make up, does that mean because back then it was a bad thing sisters now can't wear lipstick or make up either??? What stupid reasoning! -

Should I get babtized?
by BlackWolf ini know this sounds like a ridiculous question but i was talking with my mom in the car today and of course we got on the topic of getting babtized again.
she told me that jehovah holds me accountable for my sins regardless of wether i am babtized or not so i have no reason to be holding back because it won't change anything.
my parents are the type of super strict jw who will shun you just for not being a witness.

I have always been against child or teen baptizm. They always preach that one should wait till AFTER the "bloom of youth" to get married but they constantly push young ones to get baptized as young as possible! I never understood that! -

The Forgotten Ones
by ToesUp injust curious...is anyone hearing the older/infirm ones speaking out to others on how they are being treated in the congregation?
without giving anything away, i have spoken to so many older ones (some are sickly or can't drive in the evening or can't drive at all) who can't make it to all the meetings, assemblies, etc., that are complaining on how they are being treated by the more righteous ones in the hall.
the ones i have spoken to make the comment that it seems to be the younger elders that have less empathy and concern for these ones.

When my sister went on a 2 week vacation ONLY 1 sister from all the people at the kh asked my mom if she needs something from the stores, for her to go grocery shopping for my mom. My sister normally goes shopping with her because she has a car an d they don't live close to the stores. My mom was happy that somebody asked her. But many knew that my mom was on her own for 2 weeks. -

Looking back,"That was crazy, moment"
by MarkofCane ini got baptized later in life.
i was around 21, i had left and went out into the world should of listen to my gut back then, but instead i disowned myself and came back into the fold.
before i could get baptized, the elder who studied with me said i needed to get rid of everything that was contaminated by this world: music, books & clothing, everything.

My sister held a "break the records" party at her apartment in the late 80´s too where a bunch of brothers from her hall came with their old "bad worldly" music records and they listened to them first to see which of the songs were questionable. Then they broke them into pieces with their hands. Some records were harder to break than others or split into lots of pieces so they all agreed that the "worse" or more "demonic" the songs on the record, the harder they were to break. It was a fun party though I found as a kid. -

Assemblies - Before and After Waking Up
by Funchback inhappy friday to all!.
i haven't been to a meeting for maybe 10 years.
i only know what's happening nowadays from the experiences i read here or the internet in general.. anyway, on to the topic: i started attending meetings at the age of 7. as a kid, the only thing i looked forward to at the assemblies (circuit/district) was walking around veteran's stadium (philadelphia district convention) during intermission, hanging with friends, looking at girls (as i got a little older) and trying to have enough tickets to get pizza!.

I never liked going to any conventions or assemblies because it´s just too damn long to sit in those uncomfortable stadium seats and the hours would never go by! The only thing that I looked forward to is also the drama and going home at the end. A weekend wasted.
