  one of the first prayers that many people learn is the lord’s prayer, which jesus taught his followers.

  this prayer is found in what is commonly called the new testament.

  the prayer begins: “our father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified [or hallowed].” (matthew 6:9) yet, god’s name, rendered in english as “jehovah” or sometimes “yahweh,” is rarely found in english translations of the new testament.

  The whole point of the bible is we enter in to this " New Covenant " where we can call on the name of Jesus.

  In the old testament they would see the Tetragrammaton and say " the Hashem " which literally meant the name.

  Christianity isn't wheel of fortune.

  The expression " the name of god, making the name of god known " is making reference to the essense, the power, the being of what god is. The son is the perfect reflection of what the father is. Calling on the name of Jesus is calling apon what God is. Is has nothing to do with a couple missing letters in the Tetragrammaton.

  i am technically involved with a hall that has never few young ones and lots of older childless ones.

  or if they have children , their children haven’t had any children.

  Very weird stuff. The problem I have is some of these people have decided to try and insert themselves as some kind of surrogate grandparent role.

  I am so done with these people. You told your kids the world is going to end next week for the past 40 years and you wonder you have no grandchildren. Leave my kid alone.

  Something I have never understood about the WTS is there is nothing charismatic about the governing body. They are literally some of the most disgusting humans a person could wish to meet.

  Even when I was in I was ashamed to talk about the faithful slave.

  Jesus as 'The mighty + almighty God'

  jehovah's witnesses refuse to believe that jesus is the almighty god.

  they would state that jesus is 'mighty', but not almighty.. below is a 30 minute video proving from the word of god that the lord jesus christ is both mighty and almighty, separate from the father but equal too.. the verses used from scripture show without a doubt that christ is mighty (isaiah 9:6) and almighty (rev 1:7-8)..

  The first century jewish followers of Christ are eventually equating Jesus as the physical manifest of God in the old testament. (the fire in the sky in the red sea, the figure in the burning bush, the glory of god, the wisdom of god, the word of the lord etc ).

  If an invisible omniscient god appears in a manifestation that is both separate and equal to being god, it is god ? It is all very chicken and egg, if a trees falls in the forest type of question.

  I don't care what you believe but what has always struck me as silly about the WTS and how little they know about the basic bible narrative.

  yesterday i got a call from the my seven year old sons school.

  they told me he was quite sick and should take him home.

  of course i am the contact because she makes no effort know where her phone is or if it is even charged.

  Yesterday I got a call from the my seven year old sons school. They told me he was quite sick and should take him home. Of course I am the contact because she makes no effort know where her phone is or if it is even charged.

  When leaving the school with my sick child, my wife and the circuit overseer and her group drive right by and see us.

  They don't stop, don't call. Maybe it is a medical emergency ? You would think you would like to know.

  I end up taking the rest of the day off to take care of my son.

  Not happy.

  I hate this religion.

  how do you get out of watchtower?

  am i supposed to write letter to bethel or local congregation telling them i don't want to be a jw anymore?

  Fake panic attacks to get out of field service. Then fake depression to get out of meetings. Eventually they will figure it out and you can just Sail off into the sunset.

  The length of a public talk

  does anyone ever wonder the good they could have done instead of giving a public talk for 45 or 30 minutes?

  i remember giving my first public talk aged 18 and even then i was thinking ' this is just me making up half truths trying to blind people with jw propaganda'.

  fast forward 15 years to when i gave my final public talk and i was so close to seeding the 30 minutes with ideas that could possibly wake people up but i never had the guts.. in that 30 minutes i could have done so much real good for a person instead of spreading this awful religions dogma.

  How did you deal with long prayers ? Boy if it just started to become a show I would just walk out of a meeting.

  If it was before a meal , I would just start eating.
