happy martin luther king day!.
i always look for good websites for my students to view and since today is mlk day i was in search of a good one for them to look at this week.
this one is from stanford university and has lots of documents, an interactive chronology, audio, quotes, etc... if the story of his life interests you then i highly recommend it.

just watched the "thin red line" last night, a very artisticaly shot film with great music, that shows the mental aguish suffered by soldiers in war.the contrast between the peace and beaty of the island and its people and the war being fought makes you wonder what war is all about.. it makes me wish that people would sit down and think about what they are actually doing when they talk of sending people to kill for their country..
M*A*S*H The army didn't want the troops to see it at first, which told me something. :)
Empire of the Sun. The critics hated it. Spielberg didn't care. It had more than it's fair share of shallow moments but a young Christian Bale's portrayal of Brit-boy Jim raised the bar for child actors. His performance alone is worth the look-through a child's eyes.
i want to raise this serious question: should religion be exempt from normal societal ethical standards?.
i'm raising this question for several reasons.
there is a recent thread where people are arguing about whether religious confessions should be privileged communications.
:Clergy, Priests, Elders, Ministerial Servants, Overseers, Bishops, Cardinals, Pastors, Rabbis, and everyone else on the face of the Earth -- Religious or not -- SHOULD NOT be allowed to cover-up CRIMES in the name of "Privacy" or for any other reason.
Nor should a defendant or anyone be permitted to use the "I was a member of a cult" defense in a court of law to excuse either their direct involvement in or in their covering up of a crime. Individuals should be made accountable and answer for their crimes. Religion should not enter into it. No excuses.
:Freedom of Religion should in no way be a freedom to neglect or hurt Children.
At what point does the government step in and enforce Freedom from Religion? Like Waco?
i was hoping to enjoy the championship game between the eagles and the bucs.. but no more than 5 or 10 minutes into the game, a budweiser ad comes on that uses a very obvious double entendre (a conversation between a man and woman that revolves around the very large sweatshirt she is wearing.
she makes comments like, "small ones are ok, but big ones just feel better.
" the commercial closes with her remarking about his "small hands".).
I agree with ashi. The commercials are funny! My favorite is the Coors commercial, "most wonderful time of the year." It reminds me of my friends. What is not funny is how bad American beer tastes.
lol my neighborhood went nuts...horns honking, people yelling, fireworks going off...finally we're going to the superbowl!!
woohooooooo!
go bucs!!
DANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!
CONGRATS TO ALL YINZ BUCS FANS!!!!
Love,

as witnesses, we were admonished to never look at horoscopes because they are demonic.
many jw's that i knew of would not even look at a fortune cookie because they could be "demonized".
i read my gemini everyday.
dmouse,
ROTFL! That is great!! Horoscopes are equal to the spiritual food we feasted upon in bullshite content but much more fun.
i got a real blast out of this web site which lists misunderstood lyrics.
the site cleared up some songs for me....very funny .

we have had some pretty amasing classic comedy in britian over the years.. faulty towers, the office, alan partridge, ali g etc.mind you weve had some very crap sit-com 2.4 kids etc.. who does it better the brits or the yanks?.
sorry ozzies cant think of any from down under.
The Brits!!! Ab Fab(added sweetie darling to my vocab), Monty Python, Saunders and French(lol @ their LOTR!!), Coupling, Red Dwarf, & Fawlty Towers. Tracey Ullman is hysterical! I can take pain in the ass Hyacinth and her candlelight suppers in small does. K.U.A. does have it's moments.
