she happens to be one of my favourite female recording artists, for a number of reasons.

I too love Alanis. Her music helped me through a rough patch a few years ago. Along with the Cranberries, Dixie Chicks, Jewel, Sarah Mclachlan, Natalie Merchant, Tracy Chapman and Mary-Chapin Carpenter.
It was very empowering to listen to these powerful women sing the words that I was feeling. My newest addition is India Arie, what an awesome voice!!

what is the true religion anyone have a clue?.
i would love to know, if anyone does have a clue; being a witness most of my life it gave me this feeling like i really was in the true religion and god really was with me cause i belonged to the "true religion.. i have noticed that witness's say the elders were appointed by holy spirit, how do they know did they see it, it just dawned on me that all of it has been based on the premise that i had to have faith in what they say rather then substantiated facts; all of what they say simply put is nothing more then words, contrived by men only, if you tell them this you get the treatment like your going to be destroyed which is paramount to going and burning in hell.
I agree with Heaven. My belief is that religion was created by man to control the people. And because man is imperfect, any religion is going to also be imperfect, so there can never be one "true" religion. I think it is up to each individual person to find their own path to God. Whatever path that may be.

i know we talked about it when it was playing in the theaters, but i'm too lazy to look up that thread and i think it was in the main forum anyway.
i just got the dvd and watched half of it.
if you haven't seen it it's definitely worth renting.
I liked the movie, hated the ending. But, I think the mother was only trying to protect her "real" boy. She had no idea that her son was manipulating events to make it look like David was trying to hurt him. I think dumping him in the woods was a bit harsh though.
My daughter asked an interesting question after watching it. She asked me if God is an alien. And it made me wonder................ I told her anything is possible.

it is hard for me to transcibe certain feelings into written words especially since i'm not what you would consider to be a real emotional person.
i have also mastered the art of rarely showing any outward emotional expression.
i will try and do my best to give you some of the feelings i experienced today through my eyes, so please bare with me.. i drove the hour to mcminnville which is a small town about forty miles south of portland.

i am very distraught tonight.
i think i told the board back around the new year that the make a wish foundation was going to grant my 7 year old cousins wish that has cerebral palsy.
he has been so excited, he was going to leave april 15th.

Have you thought about contacting the media? In the city that we live in there is a "call to action" number. Or you could go bigger and contact 20/20 or dateline or something like that. Sometimes doing that gets results.

it's really weird that so many people have left this board because they claim it was a manipulative and inflammatory place to be.. now it's all great posts, good content and no quarreling here at jw-d. there's something here that i can't quite get my head around, hmmm, i wonder what i'm missing........?.

I am never disappointed when I read your posts. From the moment I first stepped fingers in this place you have cracked me up. I'm so glad that people like you, who bring a smile to my face, are still here.

I can relate to what you are going through. My husband left me 4 years ago and we were seperated for 1 year. He said pretty much the same thing that your wife said. That we got married too young and he wasn't happy. I told him that I would give him one year to try and figure out what he wanted and then I was moving on. It took a year and marriage counseling and becoming more positive people but we are now more happy than we ever were before. Sometimes it takes something like this to make people realize how much we take each other for granted and also to figure out what is really important.

i was 19, and my first time was a complete let down.
i envisioned that gothic romance motif, all about romance and love, i didn't know what i was doing, didn't know sex was like that.
I was 19. I had been dating an elder's son on and off for 3 years. We finally got to the point where we couldn't keep our hands off each other any more. He was very sweet and gentle and I wasn't disappointed.
