Sunday Family Dinner...Come and get It!!

hey guys,every sunday i have a family dinner.family and friends are welcome,including dubs who can leave their religion outside my door.the house is alive with laughter,conversation,people playing video games,surfing the net,and watching the newest movie out.i have to start cooking early,so when people start arriving they can smell dinner cooking.before dinner there are appetizers,cold beer,wine,and a nice bottle of 12 year old whiskey for the gents.its always a fun time for everyone and it helps keep the family together.does anyone else have a day they put aside for the family?..

Overeating

it is intersting that the bible does not speak specificly about things like smoking, blood tranfusions, etc, which the watchtower will expell its own members over.. yet the bible does speak specificly about over eatingit even goes on to say that such people will not inherit the kingdom.

yet from my experience in the organisation many witnesses would over-eat(few pleasures left when you got your head in a book all the time) and many were clearly overweight and suffering for it!.

this led to all sorts of health problems for them from back trouble to heart disease, yet i never heard of any being dissfellowshiped on the grounds of gluttony/overeating!!.

There was this one particular obese elder's wife who rode my ass about how I chose to raise my kids. Making little comments and digs all the time. There were soooooooo many times I felt like telling her off about how she was a glutton, and an obese fat hog and to get the hell outa my face and if I wanna bring a doll for my 1 yr. old daughter to play with at these boring as hell meetings that's my perogative and go stuff your face with some more chicken you old battle axe. Wow! Do you sense some pent up hostility? Touchy subject for me I suppose.

vi was one of those jw's that was an absolute angel.

i never gave up on them because of people like her and my mums other friend of 20 odd years, chris.

she's a legend too, only suffering cronic fatigue!.

That's very sad that you and your mum have lost someone so special. I was just telling my daughter today, who was having bossy friend problems, how very rare and special it is to find a true friend. And when you do find one you hang on to them for dear life. I feel that even though your friend has died, she is still with you in your memories. Treasure those memories.

Which bible Translation is best?

i know there are many on here that dont.

i still do, though not very often, and i dont accept everything written as straight from the mouth of god.. one thing i discovered after leaving the witnesses was that the bible is actually an interesting document and not some terribly difficult tome that must be explained every step of the way.

good tv shows?

hello just wanted to ask what tv shows do u guys watch?

we have limited choices over here but now i know where to get tv rips (evil me)..anyways..what are good to consider?

some shows i'm into are sex and the city, friends, and felicity that's about it..southpark too but dont get to watch now..ahh yah i watched survivor too and fear factor when i get to catch it..

I like Nigella Bites, a cooking show on the style network. Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Real World, Road Rules, Felicity, Friends, Survivor, Cops, America's Most Wanted, Shabby Chic (also on style network), Oprah.

Clutches Of Fear & Guilt?

For me it comes in waves. I'll be fine for a while and then all of a sudden a wave of doubt (not necessarily fear or guilt) comes over me. I'll start thinking about something the JW's taught me and I'll start to think "Well, how else could that scripture apply other than how they have interpreted it?"

The way that I'm handling it right now is to gather as much information from as many sources as I can so that "I" can come to my "own" conclusion. Not have someone "else" tell me what conclusion to come to. But the waves are still coming and who knows if they will ever go away. I can only hope.

I admit it, I'm a survivor addict. I love the setting for this one it looks really beautiful. I would have voted off Miss Cleopatra, I mean Come On!!!! She had nice fake boobs though.
