YOU KNOW said early in this thread that he is happy that no apostate has been able to break his faith. First of all, is anyone here making it her or his mission to break YK's faith? Second, and you've heard this one numerous times: faithful dubs are not here. End of story. HbH

As a dub, I owned a few Bible translations that were not the NWT. Other than that, I cannot remember owning anything outside of WTBTS pubs. We didn't even own a book shelf or book case. Now, as a non-dub, most of our furniture is bookcases...let me count...10 floor to ceiling units. We have thousands of books, and we add to the collection weekly. HbH

Remember this analogy, used to 'hook' new bible st
by HomebutHiding in"if i said i would give you $168 every week, the only condition being that you would give me back $1, would you do it?
and yet, jehovah lovingly and freely gives us 168 hours of life each week.
he is asking back only one hour in the form of a bible study.

Yes, amazing, and still have enough time left to feel guilty that we weren't doing enough to please "HIM." HbH

"If I said I would give you $168 every week, the only condition being that you would give me back $1, would you do it? Of course you would! And yet, Jehovah lovingly and freely gives us 168 hours of life each week. He is asking back only one hour in the form of a bible study." Remember that one, fellow pioneers and publishers? One hour, my foot! HbH

Disfellowshiping: The WTS Tightens Its Control
by Rado Vleugel inin this article i show that the watchtower leadership has hardened its standpoint on disfellowshipping.
they turned their standpoint from "disfellowshipping does not sever family ties" towards "quit mixing with them".
the evidence can be seen if you compare the statements on the jw-media.org website in the beliefs-frequently asked questions section before july 2002 and the hardened statement in july 2002. screenshots of both statements are displayed on watchtower information service.. .

I need to know what it is about us, i.e., we who have left the borg, that we need to continuosly label the WT as evil. There are so many corrupt organizations. Why do we seem "stuck" and bitter? Do we perhaps feel better about leaving by convincing ourselves over and over again that we did the right thing? Is there perhaps a tiny part in us that doubts they are a cult, and we need to reassure ourselves that we are not most evil for having left Jehovah's chosen people? I am sure I made the right decision in leaving. I don't get the constant need to bash. Does the bashing itself not limit our progress in healing and finding peace? I am really curious about all of this. Any comments? HbH.

Jim...Recently, I had the opportunity to go INSIDE a SA thrift store. Of course, as JW, I never would have considered such a move, but upon entering, I was faced with this huge placard/sign which stated: "4 sweaters for $1.00." Now, I can assure you, all the promises of life on a paradise Earth never thrilled me as much as those words did. I found (and bought)12 sweaters. I so love freedom. HbH

Edited, Cos first time round, it didn't make sense
by invisible ingod?
i, ruddy nora, can i type this without getting struck down by lightning, well, what i mean to say is, i have wondered sometimes, as you do, whether god knows in the back of his own mind, the fact that it feels, from a human perspective, as if some big mistake is going on.
like i'm in god's petrie dish, and all this is only a part of something else much bigger beyond present human comprehension of the concept at play in his mind.. anyone?.
