Compare the interpretation of the " Tree of The Knowledge of Good And Bad" with a consistent interpretation of "The Tree Of Life". Both were in the Garden. Both were literal but symbolic, like the World Trade Towers. Now try to make that consistent interpretation work according to The Watchtower's reasoning. It will become apparrent that the the legal ideas they raise are ,indeed, sophmoric and that some other meaning must be understood. Note that Adam and Eve were not driven out of the Garden because they ate from the Tree of Knowledge. They were condemned to die for this! They were driven out because they might eat from the Tree of Life Understanding this will impact the Watchtower's theology and the Bible itself. Go into it.

Why the bible does'nt make sense to me
by Leander infor some odd reason this morning when i woke up the first thing that came into my mind was the suffering and pain that humans deal with on a daily basis.
again i'm not really sure what made me think about that so early in the morning.
(maybe it was a dream i had).

Myths to Live By
by Will Power inhas anyone read this book "myths to live by" or any others by joseph campbell?.
myths and legends are found in every culture of every time period including a creation story, a fall, heros, devils, good/evil battles, flood, virgin birth, savior, resurrection, second comings, judgements, eternal bliss - amazing.
myth, legend, ritual all have their place as a temporary answer that binds individuals to their local group but long gone is the time when one group should claim "exclusivity" to these stories.. the historical references, hindu, buddist, native american, et al and even christian, if they have any meaning at all, must be secondary for in times gone by where the "social unit" was the tribe, the religious sect, a nation, or even a civilization, it was possible for the local myths that serviced to represent all those beyond its territory as inferior - their human heritage of imagery was true and sanctified or at least supreme.

How can we know if a spirit world exists?
by sleepy inthe only way we as humans can examine the universe is through our brains.. theres nothing we can do about it.
all senses and experiences are taken in by or bodies and interpreted in our minds.
we can not know of anything that our minds can't take in.. for example if we were all blind and no humans had eyes and the part of the brain that interprets vision we would have no concept of seeing or even the existence of light.. this creates a problem, how can we know whether things exist outside of our senses.

Thoughts rise and then they cease. If you attach to the thoughts you will suffer. If you merely observe them , without any judgement , they will cease. Other thoughts will rise and they also will cause suffering if you attach but if you merely acknowledge them without judging them as good or bad, they will cease. With practice your mind will become still. When your mind is still you will be living in the present moment and living in the present moment has a quality of freedom that many seek but few find. Do not despair, it becomes easier and easier as you practice. Remember, do not judge your thoughts . They will cease and new ones will rise, treat them the same way. Do not give way to guilt or you will attach and off you will go with the thoughts. Simply watch them. Enjoy learning how your mind works . By understanding yourself you will understand everything. Be patient and above all be kind to yourself. Do not judge your thoughts , they are only thoughts . Just acknowledge them and let them pass by.

With respect, I am very tired. I will look forward to your post tomorrow. But here......... You have two centers, one is Real and is one for all. The other is not real and is conditioned. When the conditioned center ceases, the Real center comes forward. There is only one Real center (Celtic's "Genius within") and the truth is that there isn't anything else. The Madness of the Watchtower Society strengthens the conditioned center. The "intellect" you refer to , lies within the "conditioned consciousness" I refer to. The conditioned consciousness is the false center and it contains more than the intellect...it is your entire identity (emotions, thoughts, hopes, memory). The Watchtower strengthens this center that is why there is no transformation, only imitation. The false center is desperate and is trying to live forever but it is not real. It is merely a chain of causes and conditions that calls itself "I" the center. It is in the way.

by sleepy inimagine that chance was offered to you .is it something you still desire?.
i wonder how desriable it would be to live forever.what problems it would bring.would we want to stay married to the same person, would we get to know everyone on earth?.
how would it effect our attitude toward life , would we get anything done knowing there was no rush?.

Living forever in the moment is not the same as living forever out of the moment, which is the way we now live
