Why is there evil
by d0rkyd00d indon't know if this has been touched on before, but where did evil originate?
yes, some may answer satan.
but think about this: god created all things, and god is perfect.

That's true, and I have my own ideas as to what that represents...but how does what Christ represents change that? What's the point of this Story that has so many people engaged, whether they are pro or con?

God 'conceived' evil when He identified it as 'evil'. But remember, He also took the blame for it.

Matthew Makes Another Error
by JosephAlward inthe 1 chronicles author lists the descendents of david; some of these, in order, are jehoshaphat, jehoram, ahaziah, joash, amaziah, azariah, jotham, ahaz, hezekiah, manasseh (1 chronicles 3:10-13 niv).
the matthew author contradicts this genealogy; he leaves out the four consecutive descendents underlined above, and in their place puts uzziah, who he says is jehorams son.
(matthew 1:8-10 niv).

(((No one is innocent. Just like you. You're as guilty as sin too.)))
While I agree with that, I DON'T agree that is true of children while they are children. I've realized something recently.
I'm a wellinto middle aged woman who has 3 sons in their 20's and 3 grandchildren. I also have a 4 year old daughter.
What I've seen in my life is that children, by nature, are rowdy and free. They don't understand 'no'. They rebel against 'no'. And 'no' is directly related to my tolerance level.
If my children grow up to be 'sinful' it's because "I" didn't have the ability to instill in them the correct boundaries of 'no'. The sinfulness that exists today in my children is because of the 'nature' that they 'learned' or 'inherited' by me in a spiritual, emotional, or intellectual level, NOT because of anything that GOD put into them.
I'm not sure if I expressed that clearly. Let me know.

Bill, on reflection, (and realizing that I may have indulged in too much of the 87 year old rum that was at a 50th anniversary party that I attended tonight) I want to apologize for blasting you without reading your post. Whatever it said, I read the last paragraph and there is some truth in that, BUT I have to wonder about your motive anyway.
I realize that there are alot of unbelievers here and that you might be trying to reach them in some way, BUT who are you to judge those on the outside? I've read some very insightful commentary from these people and I have to wonder if maybe we (people who DO believe in Christ) shouldn't be LISTENING instead of talking.
I also realize that there is a very low tolerance for 'witnesses' that some may have, but aren't they themselves witnesses? Don't they deserve some validation from people who claim to know the 'truth'? Isn't it the truth that we all have something to offer? You may think that you are right, but are you? Who really IS the faithful and discreet slave? I don't see where that was answered in Matthew 24.

Bill Parker, I didn't read this post, because, as most of your posts, it was too involved. I have a question though. How in the world can anyone ever feel like they have all the answers? I'm pretty well founded in my beliefs, yet I don't think I have it ALL. How can anyone ever feel that they are in a position to create a black and white scenario that others must agree with or they are wrong? Who put you, or anyone else for that matter, into that position of authority?
I don't care who you are, if you want to give me something to think about, fine...I can't find fault with that. But when you expect others to THINK and FEEL and BELIEVE exactly the same way you do, I find your motive to be suspect. What will YOU loose if someone else is right? What can you GAIN if you realize that they may be?
How in the hell do you get to the point where you know it ALL? I know that the Bible says that Christ's followers will UNDERSTAND everything, but that doesn't translate to KNOWING everything in my Book.
Who IS the faithful and discreet slave except those who testify to the TRUTH?

I know I'm going to catch grief for this, but it's a thought I've had since I heard about this childrens foundation. I heard that there will be a benefit or call to awareness of the situation of the children in the Middle East. Although I'm not a fundamentalist, I try to apply things to my own understanding. Here goes:
Daniel 12:1 And during that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people. ...."
I don't neccesarily believe this but before you scoff, didn't the prophet Isaiah name Cyrus (a very real person) by name?

(((Hmmm ... with so many women proving their managerical abilities
in the workplace, what will the old farts do to "keep the
sisters down" in the organization?)))Last night that slave guy (is he inside Bethel, for some reason I think he is) said something about changes regarding women commenting at meetings. He didn't go into details, just made the comparison that women at Bethel don't/can't comment at meetings. I don't know if he was saying that the women at Bethel will be able to comment soon, or if women in the congs won't. For some reason I took it that they will become more restrictive, but that could be shaded by my prejudice.
