  i was just looking at some happy holidays / xmas cards some of us sent each other at the close of 2016 of the cards i received only a few of them have your jwn name on them ,the other `s gave me their real names which i cant reveal here.. however this post is for everybody that is on this forum not just to the few i`m referring to.just to clarify .. and i was going to send greetings to you all this year for 2020.. one was from hawaii.

  Johnson and the NHS

  we brits are being bombarded with facts and speculation about the horrific consequences of either corbin or johnson getting into power .

  another thread has discussed the anti-semitic leanings ( or not ) of corbin .

  what do people think about the left's claims that boris would sell off the nhs ,only this morning l saw a post on fb saying that " america is demanding full access to nhs records " it has been pointed out by a political reporter on the bbc that the talks that the papers were leaked about happened before johnson became pm and these were just things that have been put on the negotiating table by the usa .

  l remember a conversation with my GP a while ago in which he did say , somewhat reluctantly , that the decline in the NHS did start under Labour . That is the only comment that l can give on that .

  i pulled this magazine out of a box of "never placed and never will be" from the 1980's and 90's.

  of course it is hypocritical (like most articles) but especially now since the jw religion has their own channel.. it is an article about tele evangelists - the four prominent ones.

  it takes up 3 1/2 pages and it is full of the misdeeds and greed of these preachers.

  Just found this thread . The comment about other religions helping people is right .

  l live in Tamworth , UK . Well a village just on the edge but my Anglican church teams up with all of the Christian churches in the area . There is a group called Tamworth Christian Churches which works together to pool resources , talents and buildings .

  30 years ago our ,then, local vicar had a vision ( not necessarily literal ) of using the empty old school buildings as a hostel for homeless teenagers . Tamworth Cornerstone Housing Association was born and has provided accommodation for young people needing a roof over their heads ever since .

  A local Evangelical church has been running a food bank for many years . All local denominations support this project . My church encourages a reverse advent calendar each Christmas . Every day through Advent you put a food item into a box for the food bank .

  A few years ago TCC started providing shelter for homeless adults over Christmas . This has grown each year and this year will be open for 3 months , hot meals and a warm bed over the worst of the weather . Not just that , because the project now runs for longer many homeless people have been helped into permanent accommodation and into the "system " so able to claim benefits .

  l could cite many other ways in which all of the Christian community come together in what is quite a small town in order to help people . l have never heard of the WT doing anything like this .

  National Christian groups like the Salvation Army help the homeless , lonely and abandoned every day .
  

  So yes churches DO ask for money and volunteers but both are put to good use showing Christ's love in the most practical ways .

  Thanks Xanthippe for the link . That is about where l had got to . However as l said there seems to be no suggestion that these " demands " as they have been dramatically described have been agreed to . So to some extent the reports on social media appear to scare mongering , suggesting that all this is already a done deal .

As yet no commitment has been made to these requests .

  l am definitely leaning towards voting Conservative but l do worry that these fears about the NHS might have some basis . . What do people think about this ?

  l have just had another look at this and it appears that for 10 years Corbin had a close association with a group called Deir Yassin which is a group of prominent Holocaust deniers . The article says that it is not suggesting that Corbin has actually denied the Holocaust but questions his judgement in having ties with this organisation .

  Do we know if Corbin has actually denied the Holocaust ?

  l am not a Labour supporter but in the interest of fairness l have wondered about that . Things look pretty bad when senior Jewish Labour members resign citing anti-Semitism as the reason . Would they , for love of their party , not acknowledge the difference ?

  lt appears that there have been accusations of anti-Semitic tweets from Labour MPs and Ministers . Were these just condemnations of the Zionist agenda , does anyone know ?

  Earnest , of course it changes the meaning which is why the WT does it , to fit in with their assertion that the Pre Jesus person was Michael - a created being .

  As far as l know the WT is the only organisation to insert those words into the passage . The word "other "is not in the Greek and as far as l know ( though l will be corrected if wrong ) there is no grammatical reason to include it there .

  The WT HAS to do this otherwise the verses read " For in him ALL things were created ....... ALL things have been created through him and for him " So Jesus was not part of created things .

  This ties in with John 1 : 3 " Through him ALL things were made ; without him NOTHING was made that has been made . Again Jesus is not a member of things created .

  To say that this has to be done to make sense of the passage only make sense to the WT and their theology .

  Now l realise that most people on here couldn't give a flying fig about this but any JWs on here with doubts about the WT should take note .
