  after being around this site for 21 years now, i've heard many recount their stories and feelings.

  many times i can immediately relate but other times they seem to have had a very different experience with the church.

  i'm sure that is because not only are all of us different in personality, but congregations and family dynamics vary as well.

  So you are saying that basically JWs do more than members of other denominations, is that correct ? As in getting out there and recruiting ?

  Joe , l am sorry to say that l am not familiar with yours and Slimboy's assertion that the activity rates of JWs , compared to other religious traditions, are exceptional.

  Could you explain what you mean ? As a member of another religious tradition l am curious.

  lots of empty seats.. twenty-five years ago my old congregation had around 180 congregation members.

  the elders decided to split the congregation in two.

  Sisters doing microphones !!! Who heard of such a thing ?

  Any other Christian group have women ministers or lay readers. Or just women doing readings and prayers .

  To be fair most churches have falling numbers or no increase . My own local church has kept steady numbers , but no growth .

  i remember back in the 80s almost every awake and watchtower magazine, think all, hade an article about how bad and evil catholic church was.

  what happened to all the bashing?

  was it because people in catholic countries got offended?

  happy birthday 2 me!!.

  sunday is my 76th birthday and i know that you want to know how it "feels" to have outlived my usefulness, to have lost my natural beauty (being reduced to wrinkles and flab), and constantly walking into a room not knowing why i'm there.

  you also are curious as to how i can continue to find a reason to live since none of my kids think my opinions have any possible value, most of my facebooks friends i wouldn't recognize if i tripped over them on my way into starbucks, and my monthly expenditure on bird treats exceeds u.s. spending on the military.

  Are JWs breaking the law?

  everytime a publisher moves congregations they have a confidential letter of introduction sent from one body of elders to the other .

  this letter contains some very very sensitive information like if they had sexual problems or mental health problems or if they self harmed etc.

  most people don’t know but they can request or insist on seeing this information through a freedom of information request .
