  Yet another "Shunning is good for you, honest!" quote in the June 15th 2013 Watchtower

  Ann I caught that too. If they even gave me the slightest hint of human compassion say.....to make sure I am not splattered all over the walls, I may not have become so depressed to as to return.

  When was the last time a comprehensive paper was written about disfellowshipping and communal shunning, as a response to the societies proof texts in this regard. In all reality there are only maybe 3 recycled scriptures for the entire policy.

  "Remove the wicked man from among yourselves", would make it seem there is a t least some level of excommunication explained in scripture. Perhaps it comes down to the definition of wicked in the verse? Any thoughts?

  This might be a good project to revisit because of the fact it is the enforcement mechanism for belief and thought control.

  a while back we ran a "competition" whereby people could pose questions of candace conti and rick simons for them to answer in a video.. there were so many questions that we needed to do a series rather than just one video.

  here are the questions that were answered.... (to rick, asked by "exwhyzee") is there a possibility that part of the ruling, if you overcome the appeal, will be that the society must make an announcement outlining the details of the case to its members, as well as an apology to candace?.

  Going to the meeting tonight ARGH!!!! So wanna end this pain NOW!

  i'm only going to the meeting because of my husband!

  i was 'in' solo for years while living with my unbelieving family and i know how it feels to be the only one in your house going to the meeting.

  i also respect my husband's decision, and know what it's like to have family try to tear down your beliefs.

  Julia I am right there with you! Do our hearts not burn because of the things we have learned? Ha!

  I second Ann's advise. For example, it looks liek I am stuck going to the Convention this year. Oh happy day!

  What will keep me sane? I will be dilligently taking notes for the sake of the group here if I'm stuck. Others have helped me, its only right I help others. Make it alearning endeavor, and bury your nost in the bible and take notes on non-sense, and start a thread here.

  Ressit the urge to be a martyr. Your hubby could indeed wake up.

  can he be disfellowshipped himself?

  so, on sunday i left the meeting and was sitting in my car putting my keys in the ignition, an elder pulled on my door handal and opened up.

  i rolled my eyes, this man is annoying...anyway he asked if i was going to be around wednesday.

  Yeah this is all good advise. Just politely refuse. Tell them you are busy. Whatever you would tell anyone who you thought was nice that wanted to come to your home to try to sell you a water softener system.......tell them the same thing. No need to lie. No lie neccesary even.

  i was a born-in, baptized as a teen, pioneered out of high school for a couple years (turning down a 4 year scholarship).

  Brother placed 'Teach" Book to President Obama? WTF?

  i just read a post on monday aprox 9pm on the "escuela del ministerio teocratico/theocratic ministry school" on facebook (posted in spanish).. it is talking about an experience given in a ohio, circuit assembly.. it reads that a brother that was a worker at the factory obama was visiting, was able to preach briefly to president obama and place the book 'what does the bible teach' during a quick meet and greet.. i think its bullshit.. anyone ever heard of this experience at a assembly?.

  i dont have a cpu, and my phone is not working, for me to copy, translate and post on here for you all to see.

  i was studying spanish a little while ago - had to stop because of finances but became friends with the spanish teacher and we keep in touch, see each other now and again.

  i just got a message from him:.

  "hola louise, i would like to talk to you about 2 things, about the jws, as we are following this fatih, we find it interesting, we haven't been baptised yet, i want to make sure before making a mistake and the other thing that allan and i wold like to talk about is starting your own business.....".

  I also second Steves advise having thought about this more. Even though I was raised in it, ANY zeal to the contrary was immediately embraced as proof I was on the right track. We all like to think of ourselves as trailblazers even though none of us are.

  any of you have access to the watchtower magazine from march 1, 1953?.

  it is true that the wt acknowledges in that magazine page 143 that you don't need to belong to any church or organization?

  i will appreciate if you can post that declaration.
