I didn't realize he was a young earth creationist. He even made a greatpoint regarding how if you believe in creation but NOT in a young earth creation.....you are technically not in step with the bible! I tend to agree!

Powerful and Damning Awake quote, and questions to help JWs think....
by BU2B injust thought of another question that could start someone waking up.
you could say something to the effect of, "i was thinking how if we were to come across a person in the ministry who asks us how luke 21:8 does not apply to jws in light of the comments such as the ones (quoted below) how could we respond?".
or you could say that someone at work or school presented you with the awake quote and said luke 21:8 proves jws false, then you could say you need help coming up with a response to him.. luke 21:8 .

I feel slightly differently that sir and DCMS, simply because I woke up from a doctrinal matter. I generally had good experiences withint he org, was one of the golden boys, and could pretty much go as high as I wanted to. Fortunately at some point I realized I also needed to make a living, and I always kind of thought through things.
Once i was confronted with the blood doctrine, and knew I could not tell someone else to believe this and that it was worth their life to do so, the house of cards slowly was taken by the breeze. After that, the overreactions and crazy conversations with relatives just spurred me on.
I too think if its possible to get someone to think....do it. Even if it only makes them uncomfortable, you never know what they will think of later. They can't "un-know" what you tell them. Justify? yes. Allow? sure. But they cannot unknow it. So let them know. Do it in an open ended way.

Tech49 has the CO over for lunch
by Tech49 inso awhile back, during our last circuit overseer visit, vic and i decided to bite the bullet.... there seemed to be very little support for the mid-week lunch plans for the co and his wife, so we signed up to host.
we definitely didnt want it to be awkward, so we invited a few others along, as a nice little group affair.
they were excited, and offered to do the cooking, so i said i would play along.. just some background.... this particular co is kind of a tool (big surprise right?

I have a couple theories here.
1) I think while percieved power means something to some of these idiots, some are less adept at wrking the system than others. So those that are fat, uninteresting, not particularly good speakers, and in areas where they may not have a ton of $......tend to resent "real life". Your life and happiness is a point right at the heart of their own secret anxiety, about how they end up. He is trying to convince you with that nonsense at the end of the meal, more than himself.
2) The ones that are truely extraverts, work the system, get the handouts, accept the houses and cars the old widows leave them, and set themselves up for the future knowing it will come to and end, because they have seen how it works forst hand.
3) Don't discount the fact there are true believers out there, that really do believe Jehovah is going to miraculously provide, and that all them being a burden on the local friends really is. We have a guy living out of the back of a local kingdom hall. He is pretty dry and I think was a CO before perhaps being hurt or something? Anyways, he is HUGE. I mean seriously obese. You didn't store all that up NOT being taken care of.
4) The last thing to consider, is that at least out here in Cali, these guys are VERY old. So sometimes half senile by the time they leave the road. In that case, they won't know better either way.

I lie in San Diego, and its dry as a bone. In fact this is a 14 year drought. We have no snow pack. No reservoirs. Its a bad situation. And we aren't in as much trouble as Vegas is. But they reuse so much of their water its amazing.
I'm not exactly sure what governor Jerry Brown is supposed to do other than tell people to please use less for now. Is he supposed to be doing a rain dance or something?
The problem isn't just this year. Its the next several, because the trend is only going to get worse.

It is no small thing to be determinin if Lor is tring to convince God that him going there is a minor issue, or if he is appealing to the size of the town he is asking to go to for some reason.

This production is barely amateur, and their voices are bad. Plus their skills as rappers are just not there.

ugh...now I'm getting mad
by Angus Beef inventing.... hubby visited with sil (with gotee intact), got the wt don't approve speech and the 'we've been missing you at the meetings".. he gave all the excuses he could for why we weren't there.
i'm at the point of just telling them the truth as why... but we will be giving up our grandchildren.
i just don't know if i can do it, give up the grandkids.

I second the dress selfie request, although a 300 lb woman tellign someone about how they look.....well......there is no irony in the world that can surpass it.
Your hubby doesn't have to meet with them. Make sure he responds kindly and simply. Don't be afraid of awkward silence. Its awkward for them....not you! :)
