Anyone still "in" that is feeling physically sick??

i really think that staying "in" just for family and friends is doing a number on my health.

i am currently in therapy for the mental part of all of this but i am phsyically sick every time i have to get ready to go to the meeting or service.

i get heart palpitations as well.

It's funny (not actually funny funny, but you know what I mean) I also do suffer of heart palpitations...what the heck? Every time I feel like just not going to the meetings I get into an argument with my wife. I really just want to tell her how I truly feel but that would kill her. She knows I'm not comfortable with a lot of things and she just tries to "encourage" me to keep trying.

Newbies: Any Feedback on the "New Light" Regarding GB?

the newbies are pooring in....... curious.......can any of you new folks confirm the sentiment of the publishers regarding the new light that the governing body is the faithful and discreet slave?

Unless someone takes the time to browse through jw.org no one would see this "new light". No one in my hall knows about it and if they do, they probably are more confused than anyone else and would rather not ask any questions. .

So, how unfair is it for everyone else that does not have a computer or internet access? When is the borg going to say something about it? What kind of love does this show to the rest of us that rely on "spiritual nourishment" from the borg? This has really bugged me since it came out and I try to let everyone know, that I can anyways, and have them do a little google search for this new light... I'm sure they'll end up on JWN and get the real truth.

Interesting District Convention News.....

i wanted to share some news from a family friend (he is my wt mole - still an elder, hates the shenanigans, but is still hanging on for all the reasons often discussed on this site) i know the various rumors have been discussed on here, and unfortunately the rumor about the conventions being eliminated weren't true!

(what a burden on the jw community - financial hardship for a good portion of them, guilting people into actually quitting their job to attend, physically exhausting for many, etc...etc......).

anyway, he told me that the district convention is being moved to 11 weekends at the jw-owned circuit assembly hall, and they are no longer planning on renting stadiums/large facilities in our area (northern ohio/southern michigan).

Actually, in Texas they have started doing that. They stadium type conventions still happen but only where there are too many assemblies scheduled or something. Nevertheless, DCs are being held more and more in the assembly hall where I live.

ipads and laptops

my wife went to the sunday meeting and said nearly everyone had ipads (tablet pcs) or laptops during the watchtower study with downloaded watctowers.. if they provide free wi-fi and coffee, i might start going again..

That is the most annoying thing ever!

There's this "brother" that even has a Coach cover on his Ipad... that's in addition to his Coach "man purse", yeah he is married but I'm not sure I buy his reasons to be married with his tight suit and thick frame glasses.

Anyways, do these brothers really do it for convenience or for show? I think they are trying to show off.

At the next meeting I'm taking my gamer desktop and get my three sceen set up in the middle of the hall.

Contributions ,how the Society CONTROLS the funds of a congragation

i'm not sure if anyone has started a post about contributions recently ,but if there is an accounts servant here please free to correct me or shed some more light .what i'm about to say is 100% accurate and applies to congragations in britain (don't ask me how just ...join the dots).

the society controls all the funds that are coming in the kingdom hall all of the time .the way this works out is as follows :you put any money in any of the contribution boxes and in the end all money are added to together and deposited to the congragation's bank account .the worldwide donations leave the account as a direct debit to the society every week and the rest stays in the account .now comes the interesting bit :once the account goes over 5000 we are instructed to send the rest to the society as a cheque and is held in their account for as long as the congragation doesn't needed back .this way all but 5000 are held in the society's account .any other experiences ?.

Some of the funds not being used (usualy in the thousands of dollars) are kept in secured savings with high rate of returns (CDs).

A circuit or district may have funds for a new kingdom hall and as they look for land or a building they place these funds in such accounts.

I handled some accounts while I was working for a financial institution a while back, not specifically for the Borg, they were just part of the portfolio

Can a long distance relationship really work between jws?

i met this guy about a monnth ago on instagram we kik and skype call everyday since he lives 2000 miles away.

he tells me that hed like to be my boyfriend for now were taking it slow but im really not so sure im really skeptical about anything but so far hes showed me i can trust him.

i tell im i dont want to be in a relationship where both couples know there not gonna last but there still together just to have someone.

The physical part of the relationship is non existing. I'm not talking about sexual things but things like holding hands, walking together, going to the movies, the scent of the person (good or bad), the random look exchange, hanging out with friends, kissing while no one is looking-well, that one is just me-, etc.
