  Wasn't Eve actually deceived. After all, she wouldn't have had the social skills or knowledge of being lied to etc...
  Adam chose to support his wife and stick with her - nowadays he'd be appauded for doing this.
  All the suffering that mankind has had to endure seems SO over the top as punishment.
  Why couldn't Jehovah have just forgiven them ?

  We do get Frasier over here but I don't watch it very often - the guy would make a good Prof. Higgins though.

  Writing private letters to the Society.

  for anyone who's ever written something of a private nature or asked clarification on certain beliefs have you ever had the unfortunate experience of the elders calling you in the back room or a sheperding call ?.

  the reason i bring this out is that newer brothers or sisters don't know that everytime you write the society the society sends a copy of your letter to your local cong.

  i came to this forum to maybe get you to think and use your own brains.......but the funny thing is you are........i just wonder why you stay in name only when so many of you are not likeing it, and dont believe anymore or dont believe all of it, what keeps you going when you dislike it so much?.are you afraid of loseing family?

  waiting, I know the quote you're refering to and have it on my PC (somewhere). The gist of it is that any organisation ends up becoming an entity in it's own right whose sole aim is to survive and grow.
  If I find it I'll post it - it's a very insightful read (esp for a politician !)

  a few months ago during the elders' meeting with the c.o.

  i could not help but express myself to him when the subject of meeting attendance came up.

  now this is a nice guy as far as c.o.

  It always makes my laugh how there is almost a cheer if the speaker doesn't turn up and the meeting is just the WatchTower. I suppose everyone is glad that they get out of a meeting BUT do not have the guilt of not going ('cause the elders said it was OK)

  i have three children and a wife who at times has severe back problems.

  i have worked two jobs just to stay ahead of the bills and provide for my family.

  Hi Frenchy
  If this is true then it is disgraceful that they should change the rules but STILL allow people to have to decide between the life of a loved one or following a rule WHICH NO LONGER EXISTS !
  I would hope that if it is official, that they would print it in the magazines (although I doubt they will for fear of lawsuits).
  Maybe the media will get hold of it and the word will get out that way ?
