  i am a christian, what is "jehova's witnesses " all about?.

  how do i know which religion i belong to?

  i believe in god fully, and i respect all what jehova's have to say when they come knocking at my door.

  Just to clarify one point - even though the bible says that Jesus was crucified, JWs believe that he did NOT die on a cross but on a stake or tree instead. This was, I believe, brought in to make them more destinct from catholics and to have something that they could accuse catholics of being wrong about. It's interesting that most of the early JW books show pictures of Jesus being crucified on...yes, you guessed it - a cross.
  I don't think they like the fact that the cross is so heavily associated with the catholic church.
  Also, re: the bible online. I'm not sure there is a NWT available BUT it certainly wouldn't include the Apocrypha which JW's don't recognise as being part of the bible (most will never have even heard of it despite calling themselves 'bible students').

  Dub in the Pub: Update.

  i`ve had a few inquiries re my elder pal, otherwise known as the "dub in the pub".. just to recap: i like to spend my final hour of the day relaxing over a few beers in my local pub.

  we`re a pretty fun lovin` bunch and the repartee flows thick and fast.. we`re only a few miles from the border with wales, so most of us have inherited the welsh habit of tacking someones occupation or hobby on the end of a persons name.

  it works like this: i have a pint with roy the guinness, chat to dave the taxi, play dominoes with pete the paint, who always beats me, mike the windows.

  Why do they call it football TR? - only one guy ever kicks it...
  GTBFR3 - our finest moment was sending M.United down...ah, sweet memories...I fear those days are long gone.
  OK, ok...I promise - no more football.
  Englishman - we always used to go to bolton assembly. I remember sitting on the terraces under plastic sheeting in the rain. But Main Road will always be the best because that's where I met Angharad (hey, it's valentines day...I can creep can't I?)

  Who's Going to the Memorial??

  just wondering..... for those of us who are inactive, or have serious doubts, etc etc... are you going to the memorial, even though you don't fully agree with how they explain things?.

  anyone planning to have their own at home?.

  or are you still planning on going, even if it's to say g'day to long "lost" friends?.

  he he he, somebody - reminds me of when my brother in law turned up un-announced and the first words he spoke were "Do you accept that the governing body are the faithful and discreet slave".
  Now, he's not the sharpest saw in the box but I would have expected even him to try and dress it up a bit, weave it into the conversation to try and trick me into answering it (which, of course, I didn't).
  I can recommend downloading the elder manual - you know everything they will say before they come out with it. Excellent fun.

  Are JW`s drinking blood at memorial?

  I've thought of a few *neat* things to do at the memorial:
  1. Hold up the glass and say "Cheers Jesus, I bet I can turn it back into water faster than you can"
  2. Drink the wine then wave the empty glass at the Elder saying "More wine here please waiter"
  3. Pop a little sticker on saying "Visit jw.com" or "Your advert here - call 555..."
  4. Keep downing the wine and seeing how many times they'll refill it and try and pass it along. See if you can have the whole bottle.
  5. Poor it all on the floor. That's what we're supposed to do with blood IF that command is still in force. Be sure to say "Gee, I hope that won't stain...anyone have any white?"
  Anyone else think of any?

  I remember the constant talks about not socialising with worldly people and always wondered why they didn't do more for us within the cong. I can count on one hand the number of parties / get-togethers / outings that we had as a 'congregation', and still afford to loose a few fingers.
  The parties were OK if you fit in and got invited...
