The companies that were invited all have union workers, Tesla does not. Representatives of the United Auto Workers union were also invited.

So, is it about the climate, the environment, and a genuine desire to promote electric vehicles ... or is it really more about the unions and rewarding political support?

telling people that they can not evict a dead beat renter for not paying rent while the land owner has to pay for repairs, insurance, taxes and a mortgage is such a private property grab.

The government has no right to give away other people's money and property.

If it was about genuinely helping the unfortunate, that would be one thing, but you know it is abused and you see it appearing now in episodes of Judge Judy, where someone has been working and just decides they don't need to pay rent.

What about the income of the people who invested in property? Do they get to not pay their bills and taxes?

It's about buying votes, and the work-shy and feckless tend to vote dem.

but by cutting down the top, you are not going to help the lowest.

some in the bottom are beyond help, and there is also the trickle down effect. the human race has been lifted up most by it's top performers in every discipline. science particularly.

I don't think Olympics particularly helps people. It doesn't even help most of the athletes, physically, as professional sports take a toll on the body and are different to regular fitness. What you don't see are the wrecked bodies of the people who didn't make it.

And "trickle down" to help the poor? Sounds more like they are pissed on. Maybe helping them directly would do more good than spending obscene amounts on a spectacle.

It's hard to describe quite how boring and uninteresting the Olympics is to me.

A bunch of overpaid people enjoying their hobby ... all paid for by taxpayers who are then expected to applaud them? No thank you. The original ideal of the Olympics being an amateur athletics competition have long passed.

Logical Fallacy… can I get some help here?

dr. leanna wen is currently spreading the fallacy that unvaccinated persons should have vaccines mandated because they are like drunk drivers… they have the right to be drunk at home she says, but wanting to be part of society at large without being vaccinated is like driving drunk and putting others at risk.

besides ignoring the science proving that persons who have had sars cov-2 have natural immunity that equals or exceeds anything that could be imparted from the mrna shot, without the side effects or need for boosters, ( sorry big pharma, you’ll be losing $$$ ) this illustration just smacks of illogical reasoning.

it reminds me of the borg comparing getting baptized to getting your driver’s license.

if there was drugs that be given to people who are having severe symptoms and have them relieved in a couple of days, they would be used in most hospitals today as viable treatments

Would they? for certain?

They could be used, but there are often other factors than purely medical reasons for certain drugs to be used or not used.

Because of policies that make housing more expensive!

Rent control for instance is a favourite tool of the left, and has the effect of depressing investment in housing. Not granting permits to build more houses has a more direct effect.

The left usually run the cities and they are invariably shit-holes. Recently things seem to have gotten a whole lot worse with the bat-shit crazy of allowing "homeless" to set up their tents anywhere, and drag neighbourhoods down.

These "homeless" are just druggy criminal losers who don't want to work and they are increasing in number as the message being put out is "why should you work!"

hi all.. i'm 42 years old.

i have had two jabs of the oxford-astrazeneca vaccine.. after my first jab i experienced flu-like symptoms - shivering, wanted to lie down in a dark room, etc.. i experienced no side effects after my second shot.. how about you?.

how many jabs have you had?.

Pfizer and Moderna, arm at the injection site was slightly sore for a day, that's all.

Otherwise I'm still clinging to life and Covid free.

But still waiting for my new super-powers to kick in, and for my brain to be upgraded to Windows 11.
