Anyone else work from home?

if so, how are you enjoying it compared to maybe sitting in an office or going outside the home for work.

i use to work in the office environment but after starting up my own thing with the with we eventually got office space.

then as we grew we have decided to leave the office space for the employees and work from home.. i am sure it is not as exciting working from home but the wife disagrees.

Regarding your time to fart around house ... I'd be careful that you're not breaking up your work and play well enough. Although it might be nice that during, say, an 8 hour work day, most of it is farting around, wouldn't it be better to work hard for 4 hours, concentrating the work load, and then go fishing for 4 hours? Or whatever else you like to do - riding your bike, swimming in your pool, going to the beach?

Even if the nature of your business requires you to be home, manning the phones during business hours fielding calls from employees and what have you, it still seems like you need to break up your work and play a bit more, simply to enjoy the play more.

I fell into a trap in my business, which was not based at home, where I was at the office all day every day. It was pretty cushy most of the time, but I thought I had to be there all the time just in case. And then someone suggested to me, "why don't you go home for a few hours?" I realized I could! I could cue up what happened while I was gone for when I got back. Then I got smarter and smarter and consolidated my work and delegated more. Now when I am at work I work my ass off, but when I don't have to be at work I am enjoying myself and there's a real separation.

i was informed that due to oct 5th wt biz meet all meetings for that week are cancelled,.

i asked if the mid week meeting was also and was told yes, because of the assembly.. it seems there's an overload of theocratic alternative banqueting feasts available so.

that the regular menu at the kh is not necessary for that week.

This is absolutely NOT the case in my area. Only Sunday is canceled. I was told that was direction in a letter although I am not privy to it. It sounds like your KH is taking liberties. Wish mine was too!

thank you so much for taking the time to write you experiences it really helps us newly awakened ones.. so here is my story........ my name is 70wksfyrs and me and my kids are victims of domestic violence at the hands of a so called jw.

Hello 70wksfyrs. Although many here would counsel you against getting reinstated, if that's what you've decided to do, here are a few things you can do to expedite it.

Act like a JW except for the fact that you cannot comment or talk to anyone! Make sure you underline your WT and Jeremiah book. Make sure you follow along during the meeting. And when you get back in the room again with the elders, be sure to tell them that you continue to study for the meeting parts and prepare and have your own family worship night. Let them know that you cannot wait to get back out in the field minsitry to talk about how loving Jehovah God is.

Talk about what a great job the elders are doing in the congregation. If there is one elder in particular that seems to be the hold up for your case, be sure to take special note of his parts so that you can express how much you were encouraged by the way he said this or that.

You want these elders to feel that you think they're amazing, and you want them to think that when you're reinstated you're going to be on fire, rather than someone they're going to have to watch and nurture. When discussing a reinstatement decision, I've heard elders say something to the effect of, "how much work is he going to be for us when he's reinstated?" You don't want to be work for them. You want them to think you're going to bring up the field service hour average in your group, that you're going to be the first to show up for the hall cleaning, and the first to volunteer for hospitality for the speaker, etc. Reinstating you is going to save them time and make them look good.

You don't have to really be that person after you get your stripes, of course!

Oh, and even though you know holy spirit has nothing to do with this, there's nothing wrong with you brining it up. Telling the elders that you hope holy spirit will lead them to deem you repentant and ready for reinstatement will make them feel fuzzy.

Hello friends. Do we have a board member that has committed to divulging the Annual Meeting highlights as soon as they're out? I understand the live show will be at 10:00 am on Saturday. And I understand that other meetings will occur throughout that day and on Sunday too.

But unlike the regular sheep that might have to wait for their assigned meeting place, perhaps an entire day later, JWN members DESERVE to know the highlights immediately!

Therefore, is there anyone going to the Stanley on behalf of the hungry JWN flock?

If not, perhaps you can share the main posters that I should keep my eye out for with the latest that morning. Atlantis? Others?

2014 means nothing

i know there have been many comments over the recent past about 2014 being potentially a key point in time for the wts as it's 100 years since 1914 but my view is that it means absolutely nothing.. people are people and history shows the psychological hold that organisations like the wts has just carries on captivating people.

the org survived the 1975 debacle and they will potter on for years to come regardless of things like 100 years since 1914, especially since this is something the wts are simply not talking about.

it means nothing to anyone other than people looking for something to bash the wts with.. it's not mentioned in the literature and is unlikely to be anytime soon - why the heck would the wts want to remind people of the length of time?.

I agree, conceptual99, it means nothing to the R&F. Still in, and still assumed to be faithful and in good standing, every conversation that I am involved with or that I overhear includes "just a few more years" when discussing "the end" with absolutely no reference to the significance of 2014. And the new understanding of the FDS being the most powerful force in the universe will just squash any dissention if/when it comes up.

We'll be studying the new light in July, with plenty of time to hash it out with some brazen conduct/apostasy/weak faith judicial meetings to clean house of any who don't like the new power trip. And January 2014 will begin with freshly indoctrinated sheep and the dead weight gone!

EMOTIONS can tear you apart....but, not if you IDENTIFY their SOURCE

Very interesting content, Terry. Thank you for sharing! Tell me, how would you relate this to someone who cannot help thier circumstances when it comes to other people in thier life and that presence affects thier emotions? I have a couple of family members in my life that really, really suck! They suck me dry with emotion. They are unreasonable, loud and offensive. When they come around, I can't help but get worked up even though I see it coming and try to be calm and try not to react.

A psychologist or psychiatrist would tell you that, "No one can make you feel a certain way. You choose to feel a certain way and let this person affect your emotions." I don't see how to I can choose peace and harmony when these people are around, although that's my state regularly when these people are not around. And unfortunately, I do not have an option to choosing my family members and they will not change or adapt with my ultimatums or anything else. They are ridiculous.

Assuming I have no choice but to keep them in my life, how do I use your thoughts on values to protect my emotions?

Lot's of talk on the July Watchtower?

so i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.

i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?

" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

There were a few frustrated elders in a car group I was in the other day, outwardly annoyed that the Sheep get to read the upcoming articles at the same time they do! "We should have access first, especially with big changes, so we can answer the friend's questions!" My elders are not getting used to the idea that earth shattering new light is just spewed on the on Internet for any R&F to read. It's insulting that they don't get it in a letter first!

They are the same elders that were annoyed that the annual meeting contained new light that the body couldn't explain. They had to keep saying, "wait for it come out in print." And now that it has, everyone gets to see it at the same time. Those retired old ladies with their IPads checking the JW.org site twice a day for new stuff just pisses off the elder body!

Bibles out of stock at Bethel?

our congregation is rationing regular bibles like they're gold bars.

i was told that bethel is out of stock!

Just a little update to this, our KH just recently recieved a few foreign language bibles that were ordered. Of course anything English was still on backorder. This completely goes against the thought that some of the elders have in my KH that the Slave found an error, and stopped the presses because they are so faithful and full of integrity they're not going to insult Jehovah by printing something not 100% correct (to the current understanding).

The fact that they're letting Korean and Simplified Chinese bibles get shipped out means they're gonna use those up no problem. It also means, I think, that they're not sitting on closet full's of English bibles, holding back because they want it to be just right!
