  I quit smoking!

  i have smoked cigarettes since i was 12 years old, a pack a day for 16 years.

  i have not had a cigarette since friday night and it is monday!

  i am craving a smoke but i am not going to have one because i don"t smoke anymore!

  Well, at least thats one thing JWs did for me, I quit smoking over 10 years ago now.

  Only I quit for them, not me.....now I crave them again. But I need to stay smoke free for my child and thats for me!!!

  Why do the 'friends' believe Elders over Experts

  this is something i've been wondering about lately due to personal experiences.

  my mother and stepfather (she's a jw, he is not) have been having some marital problems of late and instead of seeking out the advice of a marriage counselor or some similar specialist in the field, they have chosen to seek help through one of the elders in her congregation.

  i'm completely surprised by this, yet i know i shouldn't be.

  Any man would be FOOLISH to not go to the elders.

  The fault of the marriage will be because the WOMAN did not correctly apply the headship arrangement. She was not obediant, submissive nor a good housewife! Thats why men love to go to the elders for "help"!!

  You are talking about the Kaballah, right?

  They have temples dedicated to this sort of teaching. I, for one, would not put faith in the teachings anymore than I think that clouds shaped liked giraffes are really giraffes.

  I am only afraid to get one because I think about 80 year old skin and wherever my tattoo would be, it would look funny when I become an old lady.

  well, you all seem to have moms in the "truth"..... my mom isn't, never was and was unhappy i became one.

  but then she came around to accept it and not have a bad view of jws.. now i am df'd and she was madder than a hornet.

  even called one of the elders and gave him a piece of her mind.

  Now I am df'd and she was madder than a hornet. Even called one of the elders and gave him a piece of her mind. Now she is not even friendly to a JW she encounters.

  We had a birthday party for my daughter. My mom couldn't come, but we sent her pictures. She will be sooooo happy. My daughter got 3 birthday cards this year and some gifts.

  My mom will be happy to see the pics! They turned out so cute!!

  i was mistaken - both women have had their accounts de-activated, whether by personal choice or simon's choice.

  that's what that little line drawn through the poster's name means - "they are no longer with us.

  as most of you know, neil and i have been engaged for about two weeks now.

  i was surprised and thrilled to hear him ask and am looking forward to spending my life with my best friend.

  for those of you who don't know neil personally, he's really the best thing to ever happen to me!
