  How crucial Dad's are for daughters....

  after physio today, i got on the bus to head home.

  in a sleepy daze, i walked down the aisle looking for a seat on the mostly full bus.

  my eyes then looked to the left and my heart went into the pit of my stomach.

  ((((Mimily)))), My heart breaks for you and I understand you.

  What you said about a girl's dad being her first love and all her other loves...... yes, I have heard that before and it rings true. My mom absolutely hates my husband because he looks similar, has many similar charactericstics and sooooooo reminds her of my dad.

  My dad did a lot of stuff, but I have to remember that mostly he did it to my mom, and he was/is an alcoholic. I do know our dad loves us intently. My dad sacrificed so much for us and was a man who taught us to think. He didn't have double standards for boys/girls. He made sure we learned to water and snow ski and paid for lessons for years (we are considered expert skiers), he gave us tennis lessons, bowling lessons, we lived on our family ranch during the summer or up at the Lake, we had riding lessons and horses, traveled with school when my parents couldn't afford to go.

  My dad still tells me I was his first love.......I know that its a good thing to have a fathers love in your life.

  lately, i've been in a semi-serious/leaning toward serious dialog with my baby sis about dateline, the wt policy on pedophilia... several related things.

  somehow, it's led me to thinking about chitlin's.

  At Pioneer School, a discussion about whether or not sisters should wear nylons in service or not was taking place. A sister said she thought since she was "an elder's wife" she absolutely had to wear them. I said if it was hot out, I was not wearing them, no how, now way.

  Finally, he said there is a rule. He asked the elders and MS to give him the answer to which they scratched their heads.

  The rule is, "If you have good legs, you don't have to wear nylons."

  the june 1st wt has the cover article should you be afraid of death?

  on the first page it sets the scene as to how death casts a shadow over us.

  it then seemingly gloats over how people in the world are fixated by death.

  Actually, I have set this magazine aside to read. I have been scared to die and what happens after death since I left the truth.

  I am so unsure, so unsettled. I sometimes want to just pull over on the freeway and cry.
