  Double Life

  when a witness is leading a double life, are they really leaning toward not believing in the "truth" and just staying in for family and friends sake or do they really believe it is the "truth" but just want to have a little fun?.

  i have a friend who says he is "in" just because he goes to meetings of sundays, however during the week you would not believe it if he told you he was a witness.. just curious..

  We just called the police on my mother in law........ a JW in good standing, wife of an elder. Her behavior was atrocious.......'you're for Satan, I'm for Jehovah" , standing outside our house screaming at the top of her lungs. Her mildness, goodness and peaceableness were so evident........NOT!!!!!

  After we paid for her flight, groceries, expensive dinner out she proceeded to berate us and tell us that we were bad, we were "apostates" and yet it was okay for us to spend the money for her to come see her granddaughter. The police ended up telling her to either calm down and go to bed or leave. She left, claiming she'd walk the 14 miles to the airport!! LOL.

  paul and barnabas separated in their work for a reason not half so important, but christ was not divided, and we do not read of either one calling each other hard names or disfellowshipping each other as christians.

  Yes, but have you ever seen a congregation vote? One elder votes "for" something or "motions" for something to pass, then the congregation follows the leader.........if ever you have seen a person vote "against" a motion, then you will have seen that person looked at real funny!! I have seen a sister vote against a motion to pay a certain bill (and actually most people were grumbling about it) but no one except her had the guts to follow thru and turn the motion down.

  I would think disfellowshipping would go the same way........if an elder recommends it, the congregation goes along.

  he is 8yrs old and has the same bad habit i do with biting nails.

  i am leaving to go to vegas tomorrow and got my nails done for the event.

  Make sure to take a side trip to the Hoover Dam. Its incredulous how they built it and awesome to see from below!!

  Lake Mead is the best reason to visit Vegas.....I never was a gambler.

  At first she tried to make the show reflect her views and she started refusing to carry a gun on the show.... pretty hard for a policewoman! I guess she couldn't see that she was playing a role, not doing the real thing.

  Apparently, a space heater caught her place on fire. Strange, its not yet cold here in L.A. We still have the windows open at night and we are 5 miles from the beach....

  FIELD SERVICE REPORT thread

  I threw away 25 tracts, 5 magazines, 4 brochures and 3 books!!

  I just know some trash man or homeless person will pick these up, so these are definite placements!!

  Your seat can be used as a floatation device?

  over the last year i have had to fly to many destinations.

  in doing so, i have memorized the flight attendant speech that begins each flight.

  my favorite part is, "in the event of a water landing, your seat can be used as a floatation device.

  A little airplane humor:

  ``Your seat cushions can be used for flotation, and in the event of an emergency water landing, please paddle to shore and take them with our compliments.''

  ``There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane...''

  Another flight attendant's comment on a less than perfect landing: ``We ask you to please remain seated as Captain Kangaroo bounces us to the terminal.''

  Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain in your seats until Capt. Crash and the Crew have brought the aircraft to a screeching halt against the gate. And, once the tire smoke has cleared and the warning bells are silenced, we'll open the door and you can pick your way through the wreckage to the terminal.''
