ExJw And Abortions

we all know the jw view of abortion before leaving but what about now?

how have your views changed?

i used to secretly cheer when i heard that women had gained more rights concerning abortions.

Just a little comment.

There was a questions from readers which stated that if a baby dies in the womb it will not receive a resurrection...due to the reasoning that it hadnt existed separate from the mother.

As a JW I was sickened by that because I had a miscarriage and was told my baby would not be resurrected.

Dont you think thats such a contradication by the JWs? So we cant have abortions because its a life, but if its miscarried then its not a "person" at all?

Anyway, my opinion is no abortion unless the mothers/babies life is in danger, or if the woman was raped or something like that.

Since the whole of your post quoted from the bible as the authority on who are the "true worshippers of God", stating steps that people have to take to be true worshippers (again based on the bible), showing how you THINK that certain practices by others isnt enough....then I think you certainly DID imply that the way you detailed is the ONLY way. You tell us from the bible the way to be a true worshipper of God.

There are many who are true worshippers of God who do not even believe the bible, or read it. Many are true worshippers who are not christian. You are pompous.

here's a representation of how many times that christendom has hit the bullseye with regards to knowing what the bible teaches.

she teaches that man has an immortal soul; that heaven is the only destiny of the "saved" (no paradise earth then); that jesus and his father are co-eternal/equal (that jesus had no beginning); they say that what jacob and his mother did was bad; political envolvement (part of the world); loves pagan holidays; thinks that god produced the star of bethlehem;thinks that the commission to preach only applies to the clergy and not to the laity; etc., etc., etc.. .

christendom considers herself to be christ's representatives.

My most favorite is The Finished Mystery. I got a copy when our PO was "clearing out" the library and throwing away old books (I didnt realise at the time, but clearly some apostates had crept in and were using the KH library!!) I sifted through and picked up a couple of goodies. That book told me how FREAKED OUT CT Russell was.

My least favorite was Greatest Man, how mind-numbingly boring can a book get? Read it and find out.

Any Info on Casting Runes?

anyone have any experience with casting runes?

there's a book about it: "the book of runes," by ralph blum, that comes with a bag of 25 stones imprinted with an ancient viking symbol.. it sounds intriguing, but scary (due to the wts theology embedded in my brain).. supposedly the rune do not predict the future, nor provide specific advice, tho they are written with such wisdom that they seem to do all this.

when you analyze the messages, you see it's your own intuition that pulls what you need from the rune reading for your particular problem at the particular time.. any experience, 1st-hand knowledge, or ideas?

One thing I would say that is very important is DONT DO ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT 100% COMFORTABLE WITH. I say this because I experimented with tarot before I was ready for it, and ended up imagining that every shadow in my house was a demon! I seriously got stressed out afterwards. I think that when you feel really comfortable proceeding with something, then thats the time to go ahead. If you feel unsure or scared, your own mind will do the rest! There are those that think that your own negativity can cause things to happen (such as negative energy making poltergeist activity). Im not saying thats true, but I think that an active imagination and a dose of fear from the JWs might make you have a few nightmares!

If you feel ok about it, then I think it will be OK....just take things one step at a time.

personally, i like under 6', muscular, dark eyes, curly dark hair.. self-confidence is a must, as is laughing at my jokes!

I love muscular thighs, blue eyes, and someone at least 2" taller than me (I am 5,6) mmm dont like tall and lanky lads, tall is OK but not skinny bony types. like blonde or dark, my fav stars are Brad Pitt (particularly him in Interview with a Vampire OH MY GOD!), mel gibson, nicolas cage, jeff goldblum.

Do you still believe in god???

one who won't destroy somebody just because he wasn't in the good religion.

Hi All

I believe in God as the Divine Power that we can perceive through nature.

I believe that human beings have personified this power so that in their minds it has human form.

I think that these aspects that humans have personified are nontheless "God" in essence - just that its our interpretation. Therefore, I am open to the possiblity of "God" not being a single entity, but rather a collection of qualities. We humans name them and assign attributes to gods such as Jehovah, Allah, Pan, Isis, Cerrydwen, Apollo, Aphrodite, etc. Each of these are archetypical deities reflecting things we humans like to categorise in our lives such as The Mother, The Father, The Child, The Warrior, The Lover, etc.

Now I realise that many dont have this belief, but I choose to see it that way. I do not accept the biblical description of God as being the only interpretation that could be correct.

To me, noone is really wrong about God. As someone said, noone can really prove what the nature of God is, or even if God exists. My own belief is that God (as I described above) does exist, but then thats just my own belief!
