i'll make no more comments until you've had a chance to read it.. we thought it might be interesting to compare the new formats (study vs public).

part II - my JW boyfriend wants reinstatement. What do i do

i posted this at the end of worldlygirl's question, but i think it got bared into so many posts...

hi there, i am pretty much in the same situation here as the worldly girl(minus the children).

my boyfriend is an ex jw his ex wife cheated on him they divorced.

If you meet them and you are not favourable to the religion, they will advise your boyfriend to cease contact with you. That is a fact. JWs promote dating only other JWs. In the few circumstances I've known where a JW has a "worldly" partner, the partner has had to convert.

If you meet them and you mention the UN or other things you know about the religion, they will advise your boyfriend that you are DANGEROUS to him spiritually and he should not even discuss the religion with you.

The elder's will basically want to know this:

1. Will this girl convert? (If no, we need to stop their relationship right now) (if Yes - they will immediately start your indoctrination process and in the meantime you will be advised that you can NOT have sex before you are actually married)

2. Is the guy sleeping with this girl? If yes, they will tell him he must immediately cease having sex with you if he wants to be reinstated. They will ask him and have been known to watch where people sleep at night in order to check.

3. Is she an apostate? If you act like you know anything about the religion they will suspect that you are dangerous to him and advise him thus.

So if you meet them, you will need to decide....do I want the lines of communication still open with my boyfriend? If so, you may have to act as though you are "thinking about" converting, but you don't want to have a bible study just yet, you are still considering it.

You could then try and give him the info and help him see the reality - that this is a high control group who are destructive.

Seriously consider - if he becomes JW you will always, always come second to the religion and the religion will demonize you to some extent in his mind.

are somehow not related to a lack of donations.. perhaps this will be tested in the next few years as gasoline, food, and other essentials go way.

up in price while wages stay stagnant.

NEED HELP WITH 'NEW LIGHT' & THE GENERATION DOCTRINE

i was talking to gumby today and he told me that one elder that he knows said: "...he heard a gb mention of some new light about the "generation".

he said the gb member said they now believe that scripture applied to only the annointed...".

have we had any discussions on jwd about this?

She asked me how I knew this, so I just told her that I had 'contacts' who told me.

I've been a bit wary of saying something just in case the FEB 2008 doesn't have that "new light" in it. I know we've heard rumours but we're not 100% sure.

That said, I might try and drop into the conversation how "the society will probably change the "generation" doctrine again soon"....

just wondering...i showed mum and she was pretty freaked by it but then said 'its down to the mist, it makes it look like that' lol, i love dubs .

There has been discussion on this before because there are TONS of pictures with wierd hidden stuff in them in the Watchtower publications.

I think its artists who are "playing around" by putting these things in the paintings. It must be. I don't think they are designed to affect the mind of the viewer though.

Makes perfect sense for this destructive high control group to use these tactics.

1. Publish that the number of anointed "144000" has not been filled yet (SEE JAN 2008 Watchtower) This allows younger JWs to claim they are newly anointed and will likely increase the number of memorial partakers considerably. End result - "Anointed" are still alive for many more years to come so if Armageddon doesn't come in the next 10 years JWs will still swallow it.

2. Say that the "generation" is the anointed. End result - anointed who are younger can be around for much longer, especially considering Jehovah hasn't picked them all yet. Again the big A is further away.

In another 20 years, they'll change it again and no JW will know the difference.
