I understand what you're going through. I hate it when people pretend they are "friends" only when they happen to bump into me in the street and its all "oh I have missed you". Thats absolute BS since the person never bothers to phone or even speak to you unless they have to.

It hurts. I have a friend who is a really good friend who is JW. She still meets me for lunch etc. but she can't socialise with me at any other time because of her JW husband and her standing in the cong. She meets me when hubbie is at work you see. The thing is, I dont blame her because ALL of her family are JWs and they would cut her off for sure if she left. I wish she would leave, but I understand where she's coming from.

Its so sad how they are so unloving and yet walk around saying that they're the only ones that God approves of.

... and so on.. the us federal drug administration has been looking for a generic name for viagra and just announced that it has settled on ....mycoxafailin.

and particularly anything that is meant to de-scribe others as condemned, such as spiritual fornicators and birdseed.

Fleshly

Usually used to describe someone who is your brother or sister but who isn't a dub. "fleshly brother". Brothers and sisters in the JWs are spiritual brothers and sisters.

OK not much, but it is used a lot in literature referring to those of faiths who use images/icons

Pigs in the Mire

That is an ex JW. Based on a scripture which says that those turning away from their faith are like pigs

Bad associates (this is non-dubs, or even dubs who don't behave correctly. Based on scripture "bad associations spoil useful habits")

Good point. I'm still uncomfortable with it because there is so much leeway for them to 'decide' that someone needs 'punishing'. What I mean is, someone may do something to you that you don't like, but do two wrongs always make a right? and who decides the severity of the retaliation?

I know it sounds "fluffy bunny", but I'm inclined to steer away from vengeance and try to protect myself. In the case of crimes, let the authorities give out the punishment.

You state that spirituality could become a thing of the past by frequenting this site.

Do you know of anyone who was previously spiritual who 'lost' it by coming here? There are many, many religious and spiritual people on this forum. You talk as though we're all atheist, and we certainly are not.

Get your facts straight "comforter" before slagging off this forum. Just because you don't like what we say that does not mean that you can generally put us all down with your whiney negativity and pseudo warnings. Stop throwing your toys out the pram and shut the fuck up.
