  Does it really matter if people think it's real?

  the common thing now a days in media is to try to disprove the likes of john edwards and to say that these men are frauds.

  in reality though, when i see this happen i wonder how such people feel when they see evidence that perhaps jesus christ did not exist, or that evolution might be right.

  the answer is, they would not like it.

  Now with all this in mind. One question really stands out above all things. Why would any of us really care what another person thinks of us? If we want to watch "Crossing Over with John Edwards" or attend and study Pagan, Wicca, or Shaman seminars and meetings. Who's business is it but our own? After all, do we not control our own breathing, our own heartbeat and the ability to think what we want? Then why not control what you want to search in? What you want to believe in, and do not allow your mind to let others say "this is wrong" and "this is right" and accept those doubts as real, without allowing yourself to research through the information on your own, first.

  I just got laid off

  i got laid off tuesday, the 29th, ten minutes before midnite, right before i was supposed to go home.

  the nerve of them.

  i am kind of upset, but know times are hard right now.

  When you leave JWs and your life is great, they say "satans making him happy so they don't return"

  They have an answer for everything!

  You are going through the normal processes involved in leaving a cult. You are doing great so KEEP IT UP!

  Who's Got a Spooky Story to Tell?

  here's my one and only spooky story.. my wife goes to visit her jw sister, who lives several hundred miles away, about once a year.

  while she is away, i get some major diy jobs done.

  she is away at the moment, so i'm fitting a new bathroom.

  I have another.

  A friend of mine visited the house of a middle aged woman who was slightly "dizzy". This woman flippantly announced to my friend that when she left the kitchen, something strange would happen.

  They both entered the kitchen, and the woman said "now watch". They stepped just outside the kitchen door and the woman closed it *momentarily*. When she opened it again, EVERY cupboard door and EVERY drawer was open.

  The woman closed them all, and repeated the excersize. Again, EVERY door and drawer open.

  The woman giggled and said "isn't that strange?"

  My friend couldnt get out of there fast enough!!!

  I need HELP!!!!

  i am in a pissed off kind of mood today, and i need to do a little venting.

  i was thinking about my mother, who was disfellowshipped about 12 years ago.

  i was 9 at the time, and our lives completely shattered.

  Sorry to hear how awful things were for you as a child, and how awful things have been for your mother.

  My mum is JW, and like you, I have to put up with her thinking I'm "not approved by Jehovah" and telling me that all my problems would be solved if I went back to the KH.

  I'd advise you to get your mother to read "crisis of conscience" by Ray Franz. I read that first, and it had a really big effect on me and how I viewed the JWs. It helps you see that the organisations rules on things like disfellowshipping are just the commands of men, not God. Your mum might be able to see then how she isn't wicked, she just doesnt fit in the JW organisation - its them who are wrong!

  I hope you can repair your relationship with her (you mentioned she was abusive).

  Stick to your guns and whenever she brings up JWs, make it clear why you don't want to be there. Eventually she will accept it. My JW mum doesn't like what I say, but she does now *admit* that I'm right about some things to do with JWs.

  As a child I had quite a few nightmares that there was an evil man standing in the doorway of our bedroom (I shared the room with my sister). After a while, he disappeared, but I never forgot his red eyes.

  20 years later, my sister and I started talking about spooky things, and I happened to mention my nightmare. Imagine the goose bumps I got when she went pale and said "I saw him too".
