Marital problems - advice (or support) please

completely non-jw related this but value the diversity of experience and viewpoint on this forum.

i am going to sketch this out quick as i can but please ask any questions if the gaps need filling.. as some may know, i have been married for 12 years with two children (8 and 4).

my wife stopped work when the eldest was born and has been a stay at home mum since.

I don't think she cares to be married to you anymore. Her 5 love languages consist of bending down 4 fingers until only the 5th/middle one is showing.

You should definitely stop what you're doing and let her and you (and your kids as well) get on with life. One week with mum, one week with dad; stay close geographically and don't bring your kids into the adults war.EVER. Not overtly, and not covertly. In fact don't have a war if you can help it.

The kids will be much better off than they are now. They aren't stupid you know.

scientific method asserts nothing living can come from something non-living.

science is observable, science is reproducible.

a living thing coming from non-living matter has never been observed nor reproduced.. therefore, it takes faith in an unknown process to believe that that's exactly what happened in the beginning, with no evidence!.

morning joe had a funny piece on it this morning and the pics are also in the new york daily news link...one of the gals posing with him at some event in monaco has even just won two top awards in the porn industry lol....god i love this guy!...he is a more than a rock star...he is a king!!!!!

i cried laughing watching the morning joe piece on this....oompa.

2 person tent recommendations wanted

i'm looking for an affordable 2 person tent and would like input from anyone who has experience with camping.

it will be used during the ride across minnesota, my 5 day bicycle tour at the end of july.

i'm leaning toward a hooligan 2, manufactured by coleman, but will consider other options.

nice message for my sons...and i really like this guy...or did....i have never known anyone that did not make more money directly due to working hard.

He's stating a simple, undisputable fact about the past 20+ years in America. If you have a problem with those facts, you should vote for the guy (Obama) who is working to change things so that once again harder work leads to higher income and bigger profits leads to better jobs.

Within this neutralizing phrase — domestic abuse — are different forms of cruel and violent actions. These include physical and sexual assaults by partners in dating and marriage relationships, offences against children, including physical, sexual and neglect, and exploitation and physical assaults against at risk and older adults, often in situations of dependency and vulnerability. The list is too long to represent. Thankfully, in my clerical role, as a leader of a spiritual community it is a rarity. As a clinical social worker with decades of experience, these are a regular occurrence in my professional practice. And it is far more often in that professional role where I am aware of a religious dimension to the abuse.

Whether as a priest or health worker or ordinary citizen, I am obliged by law to report any situations where a child is at risk of harm to the appropriate investigative authorities. Sadly we, as a society, have very few mandatory obligations to report where others are involved, such as seniors or those with developmental or severe mental health conditions. This often leaves us in positions of trust and confidence with limited powers to intervene beyond counselling and advice.

Only a few in a clerical position even have authority to impose congregational sanctions against an individual. I recently was aware of such a situation where a husband was banned from his church by the minister because of his behaviour towards his wife and other congregants. I am aware of individuals who are held away from their congregation, ‘on probation’ as it were, with the requirement to address their behaviour before being allowed to participate again. As I wrote here recently, our positions as religious leaders are paradoxical because we must on the one hand model and uphold the highest moral standards, while, on the other, we must remember our commitments to care for the inner lives of those in our congregations, including those who may be perpetrators of abuse. There is not always a single clear issue and we must rely on our faith principles, personal conscience, congregational advice and awareness of the broader social and legal context to find a path through each situation.
