advice needed--please respond

this is a question my df mother would like me to post for her:.

would it be morally right to go back to the jws, even though she doesn't feel it is god's org?

she would do this in order to speak with her life long friends and her youngest daughter, all of whom are quite emotionally distraught due to her dfing.

Lisa's Mom, so sorry for the terrible spot that you are in. As for the morality of fibbing a bit to get your family and friends back??? C'mon, we KNOW the answer to that one.

As to whether you will be better off after trying this, who knows. But it sounds like you might. I think even I could pull that off, but then I know I would open my big mouth and probably end up in the hot seat again quickly. So REMEMBER your priorities!

One thing I realized, as I was contemplating my life leaving the org, was that I would likely come across many situations where I would just have to be "bigger" than the situation, "bigger" than the other person. "Bigger" in these cases means "better", and that is not an easy thing to do. But it can be a noble thing to do, to be.

My situation is such that, I feel that someday, before to long, some elders are gonna wanna have a li'l chat with me. I've just about come to the conclusion that I will hit them with every hard question in the book. Then, when they are dazed and confused and punch drunk, yet happy that they have the "ace in the hole" question for me, they'll ask me: "do you believe that the fds is Gods channel on earth?", "YES", I'll say, with a conviction that would get me a scholarship to Juliard. "yes, of course! It's just that....it's just that....I just have these questions that I can't seem to get answers for, perhaps I should just wait till the C.O. or some other really spiritual man is around?"

No reason they shouldn't feel like the worthless window weights that they are.

Scales of Justice

this being my first proper post i wanted to raise a question that i asked of an elder.

the only response i received was that i was questioning god.

when i pressed further i was accused of being an apostate.

Good question. I think the answer is: no. That empathy thing is a real b**** for us idealist, isn't it? It will drive a person crazy if that person clings too tightly to the Bible.

Also, now that you can think about things a bit freer, consider that the idea that "this world is soon to end", is a belief that you can let go of with absolutely no adverse consequences, and many, many benifits. Since you didn't come up with that idea on your own, it shouldn't be too hard for you to let go of.

last year on h20 much was discussed about whether jesus was a historical person.

it was brought out that no mention of jesus is ever made outside the works of christians (presuming that all christian historians are biased) except for the the writings of roman historian, flavius josephus.

and, even the brief mentioin of jesus in josephus works are challenged by some as being spurious addtions to some manuscripts.

Maybe I'm just an overly cynical bastard, but I couldn't help but add to the end of that scripture a weasely voiced, SNL character's postscript: "yeah, that's the ticket."

The Surah goes on to make the point that all should worship Allah and no other: "Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for Lords beside Allah."

Yeah, that's the ticket.

I have no idea why this picture would come up in a search for "dead horse", but, she is cute, and it is spooky, cuz she was the chic (broad, dame, eye-candy, etc., etc.) in "Meet Joe Black"!!! Get it???!!!! "Joe" "Black"????? Get it?? Spooky, huh?
