I wonder if you realize that in describing your mother you have given a description of a person with a severe personality disorder?

Toxic Relationships
by serenitynow! ini have had it with my mother.
i've spoken on the board before about her.
she is fanatically religious, often keeps me on the phone for hours while she talks endlessly about the bible.

Car inspection woes
by Terry ini'm sure texas isn't much different from any other state.. we want clean air.
so, the auto manufacturers came up with a glorified box of charcoal that "filters" out the pollutants (simultaneously making the energy output less efficient requiring yet more fuel) called a catalytic converter.. most cars' converter lasts about 10 years.. .
i'm driving a honda accord from 1998. the coverter has given up the ghost and i don't pass the nox tests.. so.... i can't renew my registration and have to spend about $1700 to replace that stupid box of charcoal.. .

I had my catalytic converter removed for free - and the folks who did it were kind enough to leave me a (lightly used) sawzall blade on the pavement in return!

Do You Ever Think Of "God"?
by minimus ineven those that no longer believe in "god", i wonder, do you ever ever think of god, believing possibly he may exist?.
for those that do believe in god, do you feel you have more of a relationship than when you were a witness?.

No relevant questions are answered by the word "God" so the concept doesn't cross my mind unless someone else brings It up.

Latest Big Love reaction at the undercover house...
by undercover inso i dvrd the last couple of episodes of big love.
wasn't able to watch them at first broadcast the last couple of weeks.. we've watched this series from it's start and haven't missed an episode.
as the cultishness of the compound and even bill's family became more central to the story...and the off-hand criticisms of the 'real' mormon church are leveled, i sense mild anxiety at times while watching the show.

There is nothing extreme about feminism.

so contentment is having a beautiful woman smiling directly at you, while the rest of the world rushes by?
Hard to argue with that

With almost 7 billion people and millions and millions of cars, factories and what not, how many people think that we are NOT effecting our environment?
Unfortunately, the majority of Americans, it would seem. It's as if they think "I can't see CO2, so it couldn't possibly be affecting something as huge as the atmosphere/climate cycle". Yes, Americans are that stupid. Darwin award stupid.
for years (and i must admit for no reason) i was under the impression that the amount of CO2 released by eg. vulcanic activity was far greater than that from human activity, when its actually about a factor 150 lower...
You probably didn't come to that impression on your own. You were probably subtly influenced by liars.
