Everyone!!!
by SixofNine inplease, stop right now with the trying to prove that danielle is not a woman.. if some folks' god can be a benevolent, extreeee happy, fat black woman, then danielle can be a hot nasty redhead who wants to dominate while she facilitates my return to the narrow path.

Does this ring true for you?
by SixofNine ini was just thinking about, and contrasting, the thoughts i have now, with the general mental inclination, spiritually speaking, that i carried for all the years of my life till a few months ago.. thinking this about myself, and perhaps jw's in general, tell me if it rings true for you:.
i thought i knew where to turn for food that was spiritually satisfying.
turns out, i was getting a spiritual pacifier.. i thought that i was satisfied, spiritually.

All my life...
by SixofNine in....i have always heard the term, "dedication", used as part and parcle of the term/act of baptism.
you know, "dedication and baptism".. just recently, i've been wondering, why?
it's not that i don't believe dedicating oneself to jehovah is a noble thing, i'm just wondering what the reasoning is for formally linking dedication with baptism.. have i missed something really simple here?

Proclaiming Jah's name
by SixofNine inin terms of cold, hard, non-partisan evidence, (and i realize that will eliminate some of yours' ability to respond) what are the arguments for how much or how little emphasis jesus, primarily, and secondarily the early christians, put on using and promulgating the divine name?.
jesus words "let your name be sanctified" come to mind immediatly, but what did that seem to mean to jesus, and how often did he seem to use the divine name?.
i am vaguely aware of the arguements that the nwt went overboard in "reinserting" the divine name.. edited by - sixofnine on 17 december 2000 15:18:58
