All these threads and still no answer to the important question, whatever conclusion the Commission reaches can they actually do anything to the Society to punish/change them?

Royal Commission....don't worry it will not go away...
by umbertoecho ini need to let you know that here in australia the royal commission is alive and well.
people are aware of it and whilst it may not be on the front page of your newspaper, it will end up there at some stage.
although the elders are trying to squirm out of any culpability they are inevitably high jacked by their own arrogant assertions when they start to feel a degree of safety and ease in the questioning.

and there is so much focus on "two witness rule" and "parents can report" the "elders aren't legal authorities" and many other smoke screen issues.
a lot of these issues and discussion are down stream from what i believe to be the root of the issue.

Was it not a GB member said recently in court that protecting children physically is not their concern. Only spiritually...that statement there should be enough to force changes to their policies. -

The things is...these bumbling elders are being made to look very incompetent but these guys are viewed by dubs as wise and experienced. It will be an eye opener for some for sure but the Commission will surely come to the conclusion that these men, and therefore the society, are not equipped or informed to make the right policies to protect children.
The only question is does the Commission have any say in advising legal changes must be made?

Need best info on why Jesus could never have chosen org in 1918?
by GodZoo inhi folks... i was playing a tiny online ipad multiplayer war game last night and one started a dialogue with a another player i was attacking.
in it he quoted a scripture.. and it turns out he he is a 25 year serving jw.
possibly an elder... well.. i spent 6 hours tapping away with one finger in the chat box until 8am this morning with him about all the issues on sex abuse, the money grab and most importantly the subject of jesus turning his attention to the earth and selecting the then bibles students as his one and only people based on what they were teaching (spiritual food) back then.. he knows nothing about any of the current and historic child sex abuse cases (never heard of candice conti etc) and even less about the insane early teachings or russell etc.. i completely blew his mind in our 6 hour text chat not to mention my index finger nearly falling off!.

All quiet on the western front
by campaign of hate inrecently it seems very quiet in jw land.. jw broadcasting has been in full swing for months now, nobody bats an eye lid at that anymore.. so the question is, what is next?
the next organisation change, the next doctrine change.
it seems like this is the quiet before the storm.. the way things are going, it's almost like they try and one up their last change, things in jw land get that bit more crazy every year.. i'm hedging my bets toward a monthly public talk broadcast straight from new york.

Well considering a GB member said they were unsure if it was Jehoovers will to move there in the first place the average dub assumes that Jehoover doesn't tell these guys directly what to do or what not to do...they just do as they please and hope Jehoover blesses him.
