Hey, Joel.
Good luck with your site. Have a Happy New Year.
I confess that I thought this was a thread about the episode of Good Times that came on this New Year's on TVLand.

Hi, Gretchen956 (Sherry?).
LOL! Are we related because we have the same beard? Believe it or not, YES! We just have different parents. -

You cannot live forever in paradise on earth
by Gopher inthe watchtower society has, for about seven decades, been attracting new volunteer workers for its field ministry with the promise of life forever on a paradise earth.
even the titles of its main study books since 1968 bear the promise: the truth that leads to eternal life, you can live forever in paradise on earth, and knowledge that leads to everlasting life.
how logical is this hope that leads people to entrust the watchtower with their time, energy and worldly possessions?

Maybe God will go on 'Extreme Makeover: Earth Edition' to remodel the planet. He can expand it so that there is more room for every creation to roam and continue to procreate.
Can you imagine living forever with nothing but adults? That would suck. No kids playing. No more beatings in the back of the Hall.

Something I wonder.......
by DaveNwisconsin ina month ago my mother died.
she had been a witness for 40 years.
when she was sick she got me wondering if all the witnesses think that this system will come to an end in there lifetime and they won't have to go thru death?

I got roped into the cult when I was about 8 years old (1978). It was rammed into my skull, meeting after meeting, during conversations, during bible studies, that you MUST BE BAPTIZED in order to survive Armageddon, which was closer than we could imagine.
Then, I began to think I would never see my teens in this system of things.
Then, after I turned 13, I began to think that I would never get a driver's license at 16 because the new system of things would come, and, there are no cars in the new system.
Then, after I turned 16, I began to think that 18 would never come in this system of things.
Then, after I turned 18, I began to think that I would never reach the legal age limit of 21 in this system of things.
Then, after I turned 21, I began to think I wouldn't reach 30 in this system of things.
NOW, I am 36, and I barely have anything saved away for my retirement. I can't believe how I used to think.Oh, and I remember how I used to always think that President Reagan would turn against religion, then Bush One, then Clinton, then Bush 2.

Just what was Jesus doing until 1914?
by carla inwhat do jw's think jesus was doing until 1914?
and if satan is ruling everything now, what is jesus doing now?
(in jw minds) it seems to me they believe the 'gates of hell' have prevailed.

He's prolly got a massive bout of Hemmoroids. And, he probably combs his beard a lot. That's probably why he doesn't talk...he needs to remove his beard first!

What is the wackiest thing God has ever done?
by DannyBloem inis it killing 42 children because they called prophet elisha a bald headed man (which he probably was, so they did ot even lie)?.
is it killing 70000 innocent israelites because the king david does a counting of the people?
(it is hard to keep the numbers right if the fluctuate so much).

Oh! I got one! I got one!
How about flooding the entire earth and all of its inhabitants, then promising to never rub out mankind again using floods (although promising to burn the flesh of of folks at the Big A? Then, turning all of the flesh to become bird food).
But, back to the flood of Noah's day: God doesn't flood the entire earth at one time. Nowadays he chooses to flood it section by section: Tsunamis, typhoons, hurricaines, storms, etc. He must be sitting up ther on his Golden Crapper saying, "Uh-Uh! Remember, I only promised I wouldn't flood the entire earth. See? I have this damn rainbow to prove it. Now, clean up Louisiana, you petty humans!"Anyway, I actually don't believe in the flood (as told by the bible), but, it's a wacky thing if it did happen.
