hello - let me try to explain.

a couple of months ago or so i joined this forum, then shortly after checked out jwrecovery which seemed a better fit personally and joined them.

started to feel comfortable there and they closed, and i pouted for a while.

What should I do?

originally i was under a different user name, but lost all that information when i moved to a different state.

anyways, i had left the jws back in 2001, after being raised up in it most of my childhood life.

At a regional convention today....

it really stands out to me just how phoney the bonds of forced brotherhood are.

the smiles are paper thin when they see each other in hotels.

What is the meaning of baptism?
Baptism is a choice Witnesses make — as adults — to dedicate their lives to God. According to the faith, spiritual protection is granted to those who “live in harmony” with their dedication.

At the end of the article, the source is listed as JW.org. However, I couldn't find anywhere on JW.org that says Witnesses make - as adults - the choice to get baptized.

So, where did the writer get this part, "as adults", from? Why did they go out of their way to highlight "as adults"? It was written to stand out. Was he/she assumptive, concluding that since infant baptism isn't allowed, only adults are? Were they being intentionally misleading? Did someone from the Society give the writer this information?

What do you think happened?

I tried to find the writer's name or e-mail address to clarify but the article doesn't contain either.

Gamaliel Camarillo, the Jehovah's Witness spokesman in Mexico, said that "to the extent we have been able to investigate, we found this story to be false."
"We know that if we want to be respected, we have to respect others," Camarillo wrote. "People without prejudices who know the Jehovah's Witnesses know that we don't promote such acts."
