Lilacs-
I didn't mean to imply that it's airing on BBC America. In fact, it's being shown on a local channel here in Philly. Sorry about the confusion.
Bri.
i live in the philadelphia, pa area.
as a young boy in the early 1980's, 'the benny hill show' used to come on a uhf channel (locally).
i used to laugh at and enjoy the show very much (i also like another bbc comedy show called 'dave allen at-large').

I used to laugh at and enjoy the show very much (I also like another BBC comedy show called 'Dave Allen At-Large'). When I was about 14 years old (1984), they stopped showing Benny Hill. Eventually, Benny Hill (the person) died. I haven't seen a Benny Hill episode in 18 years. Until...
Tuesday night. Benny Hill shows come on every weeknight (or morning) at 1:00-1:30 and 1:30-2:00. I wanted to see if, as an adult, the show was as funny as I made it out to be as a kid. My answer: YUP! Benny Hill was a comic genius and his timing was clever. I laughed and laughed the other night and I'm going to start taping the episodes.
For all of you who grew up as JWs: This was probably one of the shows that your mommy and daddy restricted you from watching. If you ever get the chance, check out a few episodes.
Does this show still run in England?

i was just curious.. has anyone left the dubs so they could talk to the df'd or da'd family member?
if so did that family member do anything to convience you to leave?
That's an interesting question. I don't know of anyone personally who left the JWs just to talk to a family member. It probably has happened, though.
Hi, yucca.
I'm from the east coast. Did you have any luck in finding anyone from your area?
since i am new on this forum, just thought i'd share my story.
(though it seems typical on here) born into jw's.
parent's nutty jw friends told them to raise children like nazi's, and not allow them to do anything, or associate with anyone other than jw kids.
.
i love the greyhounds and the horses...... i need to hit the lotto, just to help all of my kids - grandkids?
"Who cares??? Get a life!" - breeze
Anyway, do you simply love the horses and greyhounds or do you love betting on them?
i am having a difficult time understanding something.
the bible says that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and unrighteous.
the jws apply this teaching as though the resurrection is an earthly one.
garybuss-
I never thought about this:
Jesus inspected all the religions of the world and their teachings and chose the International Bible Students Association in 1919 because they were teaching the truth. Of course virtually everything they taught then, except the dis-beliefs, has since been rejected and a Witness today who teaches the things that Jesus approved in 1919 would be disfellowshipped for apostasy.
It truly defies all logic. Thanks for another gem to put into my JW archive.

BluesBrother...
I still hear the comments from family members, when someone they like dies, eg Princess Diana, John Lennon etc"At least now they in line for a ressurrection. They might have never got the truth otherwise"
Man, JWs say that stuff a LOT! I've been guilty of saying it myself. As my eyes have been opened, I now see how foolish and ignorant such thinking is.
