Let's Get Physical
by Funchback inrap, earth, wind and fire, 'let's get physical'.... types of music, performers and songs i wasn't allowed to listen to as a person in the jw corporation.. i remember jane, a self-appointed annointed, counseled me because i was an 11-year-old boy singing 'let's get physical' after a meeting.
i remember watching the video simply believing it was about exercise...lol!
but holy roller jane just had to try to ruin it for me, causing me to ponder, 'what else could it mean?'.

I remember watching the video simply believing it was about exercise...LOL! But holy roller Jane just had to try to ruin it for me, causing me to ponder, 'What else could it mean?'. It's so silly. The video, to me, was funny: Chubby guys working out, not one half-naked lady, and then a bunch of muscle men who all turn out to be gay at the end.
Let's see, I didn't become gay because of the video. I didn't develop a sexual attraction to Olivia Newton-John. How was this song or video going to corrupt me?
Oh, wait...I did grow up to be a chubby man, though. Oops.

Making fun of an elder, CO or GB'er, would it be considered brazen conduct or some other WT sin?
by oppostate inwould making fun of an elder, co or governing body member, be considered brazen conduct or some other wt sin, like apostasy?
.
is it an actionable judicial matter, even?.

Be careful.
Jehovah may send two she-bears after you. Heck, in the past, two of them ripped apart 42 lads. Those are some fast bears.
That'll learn ya'!

Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!
by Divergent inurghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.
the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

12 Daniel, a brother in Mexico, needed to choose between being loyal to God and seeking his own selfish interests. He wanted to marry a girl who was not a believer. Says Daniel: “I continued writing to her even after I entered the pioneer service. But finally, I humbled myself and told an experienced elder that I was disturbed by a conflict of loyalties. He helped me to see that to be loyal to God, I needed to stop writing to her. After many prayers and tears, that is what I did. Soon my joy in the ministry increased.” Daniel later married a fine Christian sister and now serves as a circuit overseer.
Man, oh man.....This happened to me! I was in love and I felt guilty because she wasn't a JW (we were 19). I broke up with her, broke her heart and it was a very sad time. Eventually, I, too, met and married a "fine Christian sister" and after two years, I realized my marriage was a mistake (even though I stayed in the unhappy marriage for 10 more years).

My son has a very significant interview today..
by Captain Schmideo2 inhe is just days away from graduation with his bachelor's in english, and today, he has an interview with a recruiter for an agency that help with finding teaching positions in south korea.. i took it upon myself to research the company and his interviewer, and it's been high marks all around on both of them.
so that's a great ease on my mind.i just hope the interview (over the phone) goes well, and results in the next steps to getting a position.my son spent a month in seoul last summer, an loved the place.
he has friends out there as well, including a young man that he attended classes with here in the states, so i think that's a real plus in taking this very giant leap.when i was his age, i was slowly working my way through a two year degree, still living at home, and aspiring to nothing more than a job as a repairman.

I left the U.S. and moved to Brazil to teach English. I gave up a management job at Bank of America after 7 years and decided to spread my wings and work doing something I love in a tropical climate on the beach. I began this journey at the young age of 41. I am now 46 and have found love, peace and happiness.
Side note: Even here the JWs have tracked me down...LOL. They pop up at my job to invite me to things like the memorial, even though I have told them that I am an ex-JW. They go to English schools looking for English speakers to attend their English speaking congregations.
Anyway, I'm sure your son will love the experience. All the best to him!

Didn't get to see the game, James.
Were his points hard earned or was Utah playing soft?
On another note, Curry was bonkers in that 1st quarter last night.
PS...I am not used to seeing Simon trolling, but his "minority" statement is quite inaccurate. According to various outlets, basketball is the second biggest, and the fastest growing, sport in the world (behind his beloved European football).

JW Hypocrisy Rears It's Ugly Head...As Usual
by babygirl30 inso about last night.... i am out at a local club (not restaurant, not event venue - a club) to see a rap concert.
now, i am with some friends minding my own business, and i find that i am standing right behind 3 active jw's - one of whom used to be my best friend.
this girl is as fake as they come: 1) she used to live with me and would bring non-jw guys home all the time, 2) was living with a man when she lived down south - until he dumped her, and then she decided to go back to jw's the 1st time and got reproved, and i supported her.

Just curious.... 1. Who was headlining the show at the club? 2. Which song was she mouthing the words to?
Anyhow, that must've been hilarious to see.

They really look after their older ones
by 20yearfader inmy aunt was a very attractive woman and it's hard sitting back and watching time rob her of her beauty and memories, but time has nothing on her so called christian brothers and sisters.her husband died about 10 years ago and she started dating an elder that claimed he always loved her since they were kids in the organization.he looks like that thing that was running around in the lord of the rings but what can you do?the courtship lasted 8 years, a couple of times i would stop by to see her and he would be over there in the late evenings with all lights in the house off, which i thought was odd but these people are in their early 60s and i haven't been to a hall in years so it was none of my concern.even if i was still in i wouldn't have said anything anyway.. growing up my aunt was always known in the family as being the air head.so it didn't surprise me when i learned that a couple of years ago the brother married another woman that was 10 years his junior, because you see even if you look like gollum in the hall brothers still have their pick of the litter so to speak.i think that whatever was holding her together snapped at this point, she started wandering around the neighborhood at night showing up at meetings with her make-up all over her face and her clothes backwards or inside out, then she started forgetting things and babbling about things that made no sense,a couple of times i found her wandering and i would pick her up and get her something to eat cause she would forget to eat a lot of times.. around this time pictures starting getting around the congregations with her looking a mess in her clothes and make-up.one of my other aunts stumbled upon the photos and she was one of the ones that alerted the rest of the family about her condition along with me (my word carries very little weight since i don't attend the hall) anyway we got her to a doctor and it was found that she has alzheimer's and it was time to settle her affairs as such.
last week as i was moving out her furniture and other items since her house is going to be sold my cousin tells me that the bank employees that my aunt used knew her elder friend very well and that her always came with her to the bank to withdrawl money.they wouldn't tell her how much was withdrawn but they nodded their heads when she said was it thousands of dollars?.
hearing this i get pissed to the highest level of pisstivity if there is such a thing.i tell my mom since she is so buddy buddy with the guy and she goes ballistic he is a servant of jehovah how dare you, there isn't any proof and innocent until proven guilty it was only until i told her that she better pray that i remain calm and not give into the anger that i feel and take a little trip to her congregation and pull him from the stage and beat the shit out of him that got her to shut up.only in a cult like this can you defend and she blamed her sister for the whole incident,my aunt was child like when he was making those trips with her to the bank cause at this point she doesn't even know who she is so he had to have seen the evidence of her condition long before we did.. i really hate this religion i've been gone for over 25 years and it still has a way of getting at you thanks for letting me vent.

It's good to vent. Glad you did your best to help your aunt. And, like Gollum, it seems that her ex's "precious" was her money.
