I never liked any of them, to be honest: Dentler, Conti, Barnett, etc (Pennsylvania).
They were the most arrogant, pompous and sarcastic people I have ever crossed paths with.
some were humble, but their were a few pompous asses who thought they were gods gift to the org and acted like they were ceo's of a fortune 500 company...

please share your experiences with being labeled as "bad association".
i was labelled with limted and distasteful association after i was caught smoking pot at school with some of my friends ( i am not condoning drug taking as a teenager, drug experimentation if possible should be kept until after you have finished developing into adulthood) thanks and look forward to your stories........
I was labeled as a womanizer because I was seen around the neighborhood with a girlfriend or three (I wasn't dating them at the same time...lol) during my inactive years between the ages of 14 to 17.
The elder who labeled me as such was a presiding overseer and married. His name was Keith Monroe. I was 18 and had begun re-attending meetings and I was trying to make some new friends. I met three guys: Mike, Maurice and another guy. They all cut me off after just a couple of months because Keith Monroe told them I was a womanizer.
I actually called him to confront the issue and he denied everything.
I heard that he was still calling me a womanizer. I asked a presiding overseer from another congregation (David Kellum) to call Keith to ask him to stop. Again, he denied ever saying it, all the while looking down upon me...both he and his wife.
About two months later, BREAKING NEWS: Keith Monroe bolted from his wife and ran off with a pioneer sister.
I LMAO, literally. I bumped into Mrs. Monroe at a gas station and asked her, sarcastically,"How are things at home?". Her mouth dropped in shock and I gave her a half smile and walked off into the sunset.
i may not have put this in the correct spot, but i do think it's scandalous the way time gets counted now.
i've seen a cart at the edge of our farmer's market, never anyone close enough to talk.
yesterday was a drizzly day and there were two carts set up, covered in plastic, "witnessing" on their own.
This thread is quite long and I have read through lots of the responses but not all. So, I hope I'm not repeating what someone else may have already posted.
Anyway, many used to count time after assemblies simply by wearing their badges to restaurants or malls.
when you were "in" did you ever actually enjoy the ministry?
and i made no secret about it.
instead i would joke about me feather knocking, and made sure i had my bible in hand so as they come to the door they know what im about so they can shut me down before i even start.. i always wondered how or why there were people who enjoyed it.
you can do just enough ministry to not enjoy it
Man, in the U.S....Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to be exact....those EXACT words were said all the time. Ugh!
And, by the way, I never ever enjoyed FS no matter how often or how little I did it.

what sick fu... writing this article thought the the average person did this to keep kids quiet..
Wayward-
Should you fall into unclean habits, report said habits to your ever loving elders in elaborate detail so they can get off.
That does happen though lol

Faux WatchTower 1981:
Males, when you urinate, avoid if at all possible touching your genitalia. Pulling it out, holding it and then ultimately shaking it after the urination process may possibly can definitely probably lead to immediate and long-term masturbation issues.
Also, males should try to pee with a chaperone present, or at the very least with the bathroom door ajar.
the watchtower published anthony morris iii's autobiography last year ... "remembering my first love has helped me to endure" by anthony morris iii.
i absolutely cannot believe how quickly he became a jehovah's witness.
in the span of less than a year, he attended his first meeting, studied, got baptized, became a pioneer, and married a jw girl.
Morris talks about how his stepdad kicked him out of the house because he was becoming a JW. I imagine the average JW, when reading that, immediately had two thoughts: 1- See? We have the truth! We are always being persecuted. 2-How can his own family kick him out?
If his parents were JWs and he decided to become Catholic, would they not have kicked him out as well? The WTS even has a video of a JW family kicking their own daughter out for being with a non-JW guy.
The doulble standards they have never ceases to amaze me.
i'm thinking in emigrating... i feel like i'm stuck here in chile, and going likely to canada (i have my aunt and cousins there, full citizens) is like a real option by now.... i feel like i'm stuck and that in a best scenario i will be starting at the bottom of the pit, with about 75.000 (usd) in university debt (from 3 different sources) that won't go away easy, broken family, unstable relations with my mother, i think that i've almost got over the jw issue, but the consequences on my life being a born in are severe.... this saturday will be my second appointment with the therapist, i'm trying to figure out how to put things in order by now, my due date is december, to make any decisions... i finished almost to 5th year of dentistry, roughly 2 years remained but couldn't handle the family struggle, suicide attempts, getting out the wt, 4 house moves in 3 years, my father not paying a nickel for the university... i supported my mother to my own detriment, she's coming out of borderline personality disorder and i think she's a lot better but im tired... .
...as i'm "almost" a dentist i work from time to time with some patients (friends, ex-univsity patients), i've done a lot of crowns, surgeries, fillings etc to earn some money at my brother in-law clinic)... but i got kicked out of university for failing to complete some clinical requirements because of lack of patients in the previous courses, i just hadn't the force to try harder... studying was clearly not a priority by then, and as i used to be a good student just didn't know all the rules about failing courses... well that is, i just wanted to vent a little....
Hello Mandrake.
After leaving the JWs, I pushed the reset button on my life. Twice.
First, I moved from Philadelphia to Phoenix, leaving behind my marriage and my religion. It wasn't an instant decision, though. My wife (now ex) was (is) a JW and our marriage was already weak even before I learned the truth about The Truth.
After 2 years in Phoenix, while I liked it, I decided to press the reset button one more time. After a first failed attempt, I eventually made my way to Fortaleza, Ceára (Brazil).
That was in 2011.
It was here that I finally found myself and discovered who I was always meant to be. I am happy beyond words and it was the 4th best decision I have ever made (1. Having a son, 2. My fiancé and 3. Leaving the JWs).
My piece of advice is that it comes with a cost. You will likely sacrafice seeing your loved ones in Chile for some time. It will take some time to become legal in Canada as well as to save money in order to visit family in Chile. But, if you have the support and blessing of your family, then go for it.
Live your life.
in the august broadcast, david splane is shown in a morning worship video.
i just wanted to focus on the end of the video, were he has this to say:.
the governing body loves to get together and discuss the bible.
So, the GB needs to be absolutely sure everything fits if they are guided directly by God's Holy Spirt.
Hmm...So if I had a table with round holes and someone gave me a bunch of different shaped pegs (a square one, a triangular one, a round one, etc.), it would take a few seconds to sort through the lot and find the round peg.
That's how clear I would expect any god of all living things to make it when giving directions to so-called appointed men. In fact, this god would probably only give these Keystone Cops one round peg, thus making it a no-brainer. No need to "make" anything fit. It either fits or it doesn't.
