Reborn, yes that is a problem...those who are left out feel hurt.
Reborn, there is a simple reason I did not mention you in my lists. I don't know you well enough to know either way. This is no reflection on you.
Richard
several times we have voiced our feelings as to who is the smartest poster.
but how about the most caring and understanding poster.
who shows true empathy for others and their problems.

I should have mentioned Billygoat, Julie and safe4kids as well. This shows that I should stop typing cause my fingers are sore and I know now that I will always miss someone. So, if I missed anyone, I hope you will show caring and understanding and understand.
Billygoat, I like your balanced view of Christianity.

I will forget a several names, which is why I am reluctant to answer these type of posts. I am going to miss several, so I apologize in advance.
Off the top of my head, in no particular order:
Xena, robdar, Windrider, SPAZnik, Xenawarrior, Mr. Moe, Farkel, Kismet, Aztec, Scully, COMF, Cygnus, Outlaw, Kent Steinhaug, Kirsten, Not Perfect Yet, Dogpatch, Mulan, Lost Diamond, JanH, Amazing, Julie.
I'll give a special mention to Simon. He is not also intelligent, but wise as well.
I think the reasons why these people are caring are pretty intelligent to those who know them. I would list reasons why I listed their names, but I am too lazy. I should list reasons, so everyone knows their special qualities (and it would build brownie points with them ).
There are many, many more. I think most of us are intelligent. I suspect the list of caring/understanding and the list of intelligent posters would be very similar because most of the people here are good quality people.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order:
"Most caring":
Xena, robdar, Windrider, SPAZnik, Vivamus, Mr. Moe, Bitter Mango, Skeptic, Farkel, Kismet, Aztec, Scully, Cowboy, Heaven, COMF, Cygnus, Outlaw, Kent Steinhaug, Kirsten, Not Perfect Yet, Jesika, Lilacs, Dogpatch, Onacuise, Lost Diamond, Mulan, Simon.
I'll give RandomTask an honorable mention, just in case. Don't know him well enough to know for sure.
I think the reasons why these people are caring are pretty obvious to those who know them. I would list reasons why I listed their names, but I am too lazy. I should list reasons, so everyone knows their special qualities (and it would build brownie points with them ).
"Most understanding":

I'll give a special mention to Simon. He is not only wise, but understanding as well. He would have to be to be to put up with the crap on this board and still do such a fine job.

do the jehovahs witnesses use brain washing or mind control techniques?.
if a good dub attends 5 hours of meetings a week, does 2 hours of service a week and does 1 hour of personal study a week, this adds up to 416 hours a year of time thinking and being "taught" about jehovahs witness beliefs.
416 hours adds up to about 11 working weeks a year!
Pork Chop,
This "mind-control" "brain-washing" business is a myth perpetrated by those who refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions. It's propaganda instituted by the anti-cult movement which has repeatedly been demonstrated to be false. Give it up and stand on your own two feet.
I have never heard that any of it has been proven false, let alone repeatedly. I am very interested in hearing your evidence.

I personally think that my thought processes were interfered with when I was JW. I sometimes wonder whether it was simply the lack of time or the pressure I was under. I just didn't THINK about things. No critical analysis of what someone was telling me for a starter. There is a good argument against the Brainwashing theory here
That is one of many mind control techniques used by the JW religion. Keeping you very busy in routine activities so that you have no time to critical analysize what is being said.
Brainwashing is a myth. Mind control is more subtle than that. The Witnesses' mind control techniques are pretty standard for a bible-based "cult". Cult is a misnomer. The term High Control Group is more accurate, and the Witnesses are definitely a HIgh Control Group.
I wrote something on this a few years ago. http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Aegean/2260/jw/jwHcg.html

is anyone really hurt badly by the flame wars?
but seems to me that almost everyone on this board is drawn to them, why?
...cus you like them dont ya...c'mon admit it.
Skep thanks for the entertainment this week, sad that it was tasteless though...none the less I still think a lot of people can put your crap aside and see you for being an OK bloke...reading between the lines quiet a few think your ok.
You are welcome, Brummie. My reasons for partcipating in that tasteless flame war are explained in my reply to Kismet.
Yiz and Skep, Swedish chef and calvin well done for taking the attention of the RF BB endless joke.
Uh, your welcome...I think.
Xena, I am so sorry that you got hurt by a flame war. You are such a good person, it tears me up to think of you being that sad. People forget that it is real people they are hurting, not just some words on a screen. The tears are very real.
Lee played mindgames big time online. I was her first real time mindgame . A big part of my training her to stop was to show her in person the deep emotional pain and paranoia she caused in me. The other part was loving her for just her, and helping her find a good Master. The third part was introducing her to a very sick "friend" of mine who calmly explained what he would do to her if she "mindgamed" again. As events turned out, her sick side and him got along great. In fact, she preferred his company to mine. She is the first person whom this individual ever loved (long story). Lee has permanently changed who he is. I am not sure if that is a good thing.
Either she is clever enough to make me stop, or she stopped. I will never really know because she is much more clever than I will ever be. Assuming she actually stopped....Part of it is that she feels loved for just who she is, with no games involved.....especially with her new Master. Another part is that she now knows the real harm these mind games do. Lee has a very sick side to her, but she also is a very good woman with a good heart. Her heart has finally grasped the harm her "fun" can do. I knew I could not reach her mind; I was hoping I could reach her heart. Her Master now owns her heart. They met in early October and are now engaged. I am very, very happy for her. (And people here think I move fast? Yeah, I know, Windrider and I were engaged sooner than that, but we were friends for a long time before our romantic relationship.)
I am reading a book on violence and how to recognize in advance someone who will harm you. The first thing it points out is that even the most "evil" of people are not evil at all. They are human. Just human. And given what they consider to be good motivation, everyone is capable of harming someone else. This certainly explains Lee. This has helped me put recent events into perspective.
Richard, who thanks the person who told me about that book
P.S., I just found out that bad words get deleted on here...
