i missed one day of the 2001 district convention.
i heard from someone seated nearby that, beginning in 2003, the theocratic ministry school will be newly formatted.
does anyone here know what that new format will be?
No counsel slips!!?? That was the most fun part! Watching people get graded on "gestures" or "Eye Contact" was fun! I always answered 'c' on multiple choice questions for the written review. You can never go wrong with the old faithful 'c'.

as some of you might know i'm not a jw, but married to one.. all though i have clear opinions about the wtbts i havent told my wife or my family in law yet what i think of their religion.. therefore they often talk about whats going on in their con.
without worrying about me hearing some of it.. this weekend i was told that one of the fellows from our con.
had been stealing from his workplace and had been giving a public.
About a month after I was d'fd for somking, my first wife and I split up. No one in the congregation knew that I was smoking. Boy oh boy, was I made out to be the cheating husband! LOL What's so funny is that after we split up, it was another year before I actually "did the deed".
I guess when you really think about it, Jehovah's Witnesses entertainment is quite limited. No 'r' rated movies and such. I remember wanting to ride with certain people for field service just because I knew that they had all the juicy stuff. How sad and pathetic.
i've been a sorry excuse of a poster lately, so i'm not really in tune with what's going on with the board, but i still know enough people here to make an announcement: foxy, my fiancee, is pregnant!.
so it happened a couple of years before we were planning it, before we could even get married, before i've finished my postgraduate degree -- but so what?
we're financially sturdy enough to pull it off, i'll be able to complete the degree and get a good job, and no amount of financial anxiety seems to offset the excitement i feel to be having a child.
Your fiance!? You aren't married? Have you spoken to the elders about this yet?
LOL
Just kidding dude, congratulations!!!!!!
I'll get the cigars!
here are a few notes i took at the friday session of the 2001 "teachers of god's word" district convention.
i thought i would share these upbuilding theocratic point with my new friends, along with my thoughts as i was listening to the program.
1st instruction of the day: sing loudly and listen to the prayer!
Thank you so much for posting your notes. I eagerly await more. This is the first time I've really heard anything from conventions since my d'fing. It's really interesting how things that used to make me feel so spiritually upbuilt, now sounds like a load of BS designed to keep the sheep in the pen.
Please post more!
Thanks
"Forget the tribe, my pants have spoken."
at this late, middle stage of my life, i've started wondering, now that i know what i know, about the things in my life that i "lived" with.
having been raised all my life in the "borg" i have known nothing else.
when questions began forming years ago, it started me thinking.
Being raised in the borg, I (and my wife!) can attest has had major psycological effects on me.
What's really cool, is that until I found this board, I had no one to who understood what I had grown up in. I'm glad we are all "emotional retards" together.
"Forget the tribe, my pants have spoken."
can't we all just get along!!!???.
seriously, what the hell is happening to everyone?
it seems like every thread ends up in a fight!

Seriously, what the hell is happening to everyone? It seems like every thread ends up in a fight! I enjoy being online as much as the next guy, but if all we can do is fight in here, then we should ask ourselves one question. Do I have a life?
Lighten up guys, jeeezz.

with all of the discussion going on on the board lately about "all jw being ordained ministers," i thought i'd point out something that may be new to a lot of you.. your local congregation has wbts id cards which states the 'cardbearer is an ordained minister.
' they won't volunteer these to you, i had to reg pio for two years before i got mine.
however, they can come in handy when traveling!
LOL...I've used mine to make money! People who know me know that there's no way in hell that I'm an "ordained minister". I've made so many wagers with it. LOL
