My boys were pretty high maintenance when they were young, and I didn't get much help with them, but I was guilted into auxiliary pioneering because as an elder's wife I should be seen at more field service meetings. Nobody wants young children in their car group (unless they are like Caleb and Sophia in the videos), so I would end up having to take the lead driving, doing my calls, taking notes for the territory we were working on, all the while minding kids and encouraging an adult publisher in poor mood and poor health. Finally, I reached the point where I couldn't put my kids or myself through it anymore. I took my kids to parks, the zoo, trampoline gyms, everywhere but service. The boys were happier but I felt more and more disliked in the congregation. How can you continue to support an organization that forces you to choose between the well-being of children and popularity?

question for those who either aux pioneered pioneered
by enoughisenough inhow many of you would have spent the hours "pioneering" if it weren't for the pats on the back and being looked up to as someone special in the congregation?
i will admit that back in late 1970's i attempted to aux pioneer during a campaign because it was promoted and seemed the right thing to do,but i didn't get the hours and it was stressful trying to...and i didn't feel like a cheerful giver.
i never attempted it again.

Follow to previous post,re:My niece
by Captain Schmideo2 ina few weeks back, i posted this:https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6246845349625856/never-thought-would-see-this-my-family-circle.
so, in latest developments:there was a court hearing, in which a continuance was granted for two weeks, as my bil has pleaded not guilty.
which is, in my opinion, very bad legal advice from his lawyer.

Thanks for sharing Captain and Sea Breeze. Such a low standard for behavior within the family! No wonder two-thirds of the young people end up leaving! There need to be more support groups to help sufferers get over this trauma... Thoughts and prayers for healing and wellness.

If the worst sin a person can commit is NOT to believe, then a person who commits even the vilest of sins remains in a blessed state due to continuing to believe... I am so disgusted.

Why are so many Jehovah’s Witnesses Angry and Rude?
by Vanderhoven7 inwhy do you think many jws are hostile and rude?
or is that just my imagination?.
mark jones writes: the vast majority of jehovah’s witnesses are nice people.

A JW man once tried to warn his family into submission by telling them that if he ever left the JW faith, he would become a terrible person.
Apparently all that peace and love training doesn't change who a person really is should the mask ever come off.
And the mask does tend to come off in places like forums where all are encouraged to speak freely and there seem to be no consequences for angry, rude behavior.

Is doomsday coming as the Bible predicts or will nothing happen eventually?
by Fisherman inthe bible predicts that at some point, the god of the bible will take action.
this is very convincing when reading bible prophecy and history to back up prophecy as represented in the bible.
—exactly when god acts is another subject..

History goes in cycles and all civilizations eventually collapse or break up. Like the Mayans. So if I predict an end to civilization, am I a prophet?

Jehovah's Witnesses and Apostates
by tfjw injehovah's witnesses basically define the term "apostate" as someone who was once a member of the "organization" (a jehovah's witness) but no longer follows the teachings, rules, regulations and practices.
the society gives their official definition in the following manner: "apostasy is abandoning or deserting the worship and service of god, actually a rebellion against jehovah god.
some apostates profess to know and serve god but reject teachings or requirements set out in his word.

TFJW, thank you for that! If the light were truly getting brighter, then it would not flip-flop back and forth. For sure!

Would you still be angry with Lloyd Evans ?
by BettyHumpter inif instead of thailand, he had gone to a place where its legal and (supposedly) has some sort of oversight to prevent exploitation?
like nevada in the u.s or amsterdam in europe?
would the being unfaithful part still be a deal breaker as far as supporting his channel?

Betty, I think you make some good points. I lived in China for 7 years as a JW missionary, and I've known a few people from Thailand, and although prostitution is not legal in those countries, and is frowned upon, it is widely available and not necessarily more immoral than prostitution in Amsterdam or other places where sex work has been legalized. Having said that, a truly spiritual person, in any religion, would not have sex without love. So if the rumors about Lloyd are true, then you could conclude that he is not a spiritual person and maybe has emotional problems or maybe is even a sex addict. However, that doesn't negate everything he has said and done on his channel. My question is simply, if you wouldn't blindly follow the GB, why would you then blindly follow Lloyd?

I went to an Assembly Hall with my sons so they could see their cousin briefly (we left before the meeting started), and there were few people there and not much mingling, not like before. I asked my secular friends how they'd respond if called on and no one really cares, nor would they engage.
