In fact why are humans so hairy?
Hair on our head on our eyes our armpits, chests, faces ,legs and dangly bits.
Does God love hair?

What are we? what is the meaning of life? is there a God ?
Are all questions that at one time I though I had the answers to or at least almost had the answers to.
Now , well i don't know. The question I now consider is ,does it matter?
Its tought to realise that all you have belived and followed for your entire life now seems to be wrong.
I have many unanswered questions and there are many paths that I could take but I now feel that it may not be worth the effort anymore.
After all the disscusions I had trying to prove Jehovahs witnesses were the true religion and feeling in my mind i had succeded i realise that my way of thinking was flawed .Why couldn't I see it at the time?I ask my self was my way of thinking wrong or was I given false information?
I expect it was a bit of both. But that leaves me with a problem , how do I know this won't happen again?
Although I feel I've grown in understanding and reasoning ability and feel I know more now than I used to how do I know when the next paradigm shift is going to occur.
What changes of thinking will that bring? Is there such think as absoulute truth?
Maybee thats just a manmade concept to help us deal with basic everyday things that cannot be applied absolutely. Is it possible to probe the deepest questions and find answers ? Perhaps its like the speed of light in order to reach it you have to put so much energy in it in effect becomes impossible to reach.
Or is it like the difference between the quatum world and the large scale world ?
In the quatum world the measurer affects the thing measured.
In asking the deepest questions are we not measuring the world,? do we the measurer aeffect the thing measured do we effect what is truth and what is not or is there an absoulte truth independent of us out there ?
If there is can we understand it?Yes I do want to know the answers and I will search for them.

How do you end a prayer?
by sleepy inheres something i've always wondered ,why do jw's insist that you have to say amen to conclued a prayer?.
of all the prayers in the bible i can't recall one ending in amen (correct me if i'm wrong).. anyway amen means "so be it" so why not say "so be it" at the end of your prayer or words to that effect?.
most of the prayers in the bible just end with nothing tagged on to the end.. so were does this come from?.

Does Genesis Teach a Local Flood?
by JanH ini went to the homepage for ray franz' commentary press, and i found an article there promoting the idea that genesis teaches a local flood.
the author believes the genesis flood actually happened, as a local event, and that an ark actually were floating on top of local flood waters in the mesopotamia area some thousand years ago.
i recognized many arguments from a talk carl olof jonsson gave at a "christian freedom" seminar in sweden in, i think, 1996, so i guess that this article, too, is written by coj.

Considering the various tales from around the earth do you think there ever was a giant flood , global or local that deluged the earth?
Maybee in the very distant past?
For instance you mention sedimentary rocks, these cover most of the earths land surface and are caused by water action.
Is it true that fossils of sea creators have been found high upon mountain sides?
Is there a possibility that these flood tales are based on true stories? -

Also the tradition of saying a prayer before you eat every time you eat.
I know one person was greatly offened went he whent to the PO's house and the PO ate a pie without saying a prayer.Aren't these rules made up by the society?
Do any of you still do these things as a matter of habit I know I still do? -

Hello Patio34
I'd also considered the idea of the Bible stories coming from Abraham and others.
It's interesting how people like Melchisedek , Job and Moses father in law are all called servents of Jehovah , priests or similar in the Bible.
Who were these people?I've also noted how Moses went off into the wilderness and met his wife and Jethro his father in law and came back to the Isrealites with his many stories.
Perhaps the stories come from many sources.
I'm supprised that so few people seem to have read Rohls books perhaps its not so easily available in other countries.
I would like to corespond with anyone who feels they have knowledge on the origens of bible stories as I feel that if there is some truth in them then they provide a valuble insight into the history of modern man and may still lend futher clues as to where we came from.
