recently, there have been great debates between people on this forum on the whole "evolution vs. creation" matter.
while i'm not an expert on evolution, i do understand it to an extent, and while it may not be a perfect answer, it's a bilion times better than the literal explanation given in the bible for the origin of life (which i have so far not seen evidence for).

'Time' not a constant in the Universe!
by Outaservice inwhen i was a good old jw, going out in service, counting my time, i noticed something strange.. i could drive to one side of the county, make a back-call, and then drive clear through town as slow as i could and then out of town to the other side of the county to make another back-call.
the total time it took to do this was about 6 minutes!.
if i was not out in service and was trying to rush, say to a movie, it took at least 45 minutes to get through town alone!

I noticed this at meetings too.
If theres something I like doing like going out to the pub the night flies by.
If I went to the meeting time stood still, I think this should be called the Joshua effect.

Whats the strangest watchtower/awake article ever

i know theres some very strange old articles , but a few years ago there was one in the awake if i remmember right which had a picture of two brothers holding hands on the ministrty.. one was african the other white.. apparently it was common for men to hold hands in this country and was perectly normal for hetrosexual men to do.. a brother who was a missionary recounted how he was shocked when out with a local brother for the first time on the ministry and the brother took his hand in his.. a lot of people though the article was very odd and didn't like it.

I'm not sure exactly is right or wrong on this issue but,
Haveing an excerpt from his book is not the same as printing the entire book.
It was reading an extract on Randy's site that first gave me information that helped make my decision to leave the "truth"
This in turn made me want to read the whole book.
If I had nevver read the extract I might never have read the book as I wouldn't have known the tone or attitude of the writer or even that it existed.
I think that printing small parts of the book can do little harm to Ray finacialy , in fact it is free advertising for him.
It made me go and buy the full book.
Music and computer mags are always giving away free CDs with songs of albums or demo of video games , the makers want this as it gets people to buy the whole thing, which otherwise they would not take a chance on buying.
Also as a witness who preached freely and helped peole into the org dont we become hypocrites if we don't freely ofer to help them out?Maybe there was a lack of communication between Randy and Ray and he didn't know it was on the site , maybe after discussion with Franz an arangment can be made.

by sleepy ina report in the newspaper (again)today states that you are 4 times more likley to be a victim of violent crime in london than new york.. but for times more likley to be murdered in new york.. i wonder why britian has such high crime figures yet relativly low murder rates , is it due to the very tight gun laws in britian or something else.. anyway whats it like were you live?

i was thinking while on holiday of what money could accomplish in helping and educating people about the "truth".. i though maybe an half page advert in the national newspapers , as witness would find it hard to resist reading it if they didn't know it was there before hand , maybe one every few week on a different subject.. so in the first one it would read,.

Then you could have some info and a contact number.
Every now and then you could have a different subject and as witness arent banned from reading newspaper they would be bound to come across it.This could stir up many questions in the congregation and give witnesses info that they carnt easilly come across without going against the society.
Prehaps this can be done but it would cost a lot if it is to be noticeable in a newspaper.
Maybe you could pay to have a TV programe done , but witnesses would know not to whatch it. -

It obvious that we have an increase of knowlegde today over people in the past but is this the same as an increase in intelligence?
Maybe extra knowledge helps us become more intelligent , or maybe diet an other factors help.
Anyway if this increase in IQ continues will we see more children leaving the org and less people joining? -

Hi Proplog 2y.
I've had a very similar experience to yours a number of years ago.
Me my brother and two friends were out camping for the weekend.
It was in the country side in Devon England.
We'ed camped out this night in a field only a small lane ran along side.
In the middle of the night I was woken up by a Very and I emphasise very loud rumbleing noise which I first thought was an aircraft.But the noise persisted and seemed to last for several minutes.
The noise also seemed to travel slowly across the sky.I was so scared that I prayed to God and thought the big A was here .
Strangly only one of my friends heared the noise , my brother and other friend stayed asleep.Stuff I've read since then suggest that it was maybe an earth minor tremor.Of course I can't confirm that.
I must emphasise that unless you have had an experience like that you can not know what it is like.
As to whether I think Aliens were involved , well I doubt it, I would need a lot more evidence before I believed that. But I think its a bit dopey to believe in evolution and not in the probability of alien life. -

i,ve just attended my own funeral, well it might as well have been .. i'm now nonexistant in my former friends eyes.. they have to stay away , i'm a danger to them.. so i can now count on one hand how many friends i have 2 , including my wife.. the other friend has also left the truth but i dont see him much as he lives in another town .. so since i work on my own i'm going to be pretty lonely for a while .. no more weekends down the pub or staying down anyones house.. i wonder whats on telly.. er nothing..oh crap.. well there always next door cat i wonder if hes good at conversation..here kitty , kitty.

I might open up my E-mail address soon a try to make some new friends , instead of you all just being some letters on my screen.( I'm having a problem sending and recieving E-mail I lost a pass word I think)
Anyway I'm off to France for the week tomorrow to stay with my mother in-law.
